Customer Questions & Answers

Can the heater heat without the blower

Asked by: angel
Yes, we use our heater with out the blower. The blower turns off the heater pilot light so we use it with out the blower.

must you constantly keep a window cracked open?

Asked by: IndyNut
Nope. As long as you have normal air circulation in the room you'll be fine. Unit has a oxygen depletion switch to shut unit off if lack of proper air for combustion. Normal home you won't have any problem. The problem is some homes are way OVER insulated. Plus they have clear plastic wrap under the wall board as well. Air tight would be an under statement. That's the only time you would have a problem.

Can be used for Propane gas-- like a BBQ or Natural gas. Either or. But-- you have to change a few things per instructions. Can't just switch one for the other. Must make adjustments.

Can you leave the unit in the OFF position for long periods of time, and light the unit when you want to use it?

Asked by: Michaela
Sure. But sometimes spiders like to crawl into the pilot head and plug things up. If you leave pilot on this won't happen.

18,000 - 20,000 BTU Infrared Dual-Fuel Wall Heater with Blower is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Need a professional to install I really wish they had explained online that it has to be installed by a professional. It requires parts that a basic homeowner can't find. Why wouldn't they include the required parts? Very disappointed. A 300.00 installation was really not in the budget.

This saves on gas; when the house gets warm it goes off until it gets cool again. I can set it on any temperature I want. It meets all my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Heater This Reddy Heater made in the USA is a ventless type and works very well in our garage. Hooking it up was easy; it works on propane or natural gas and switching is easy. Fortunately, I have a plumber friend who installed the gas lines for me. Our only problem was the pilot kept going out and we had trouble lighting but my friend adjusted a set screw to correct this. I think the Factory should set this up better for users since I've seen a lot of comments from people having the same problem They actually returned the unit. The instructions are clear on how to adjust the pilots flow however a lot of people are reluctant to get inside the Heater to do this.

Overall the heater is well built and has the option of wall mount or freestanding. The only part that is really disappointing is that the brass fitting that goes into the heater itself was missing and an off the shelf fitting would not work. I was able to fabricate a part that would work, but was disappointed that I had to. Of course I could have complained to the manufacturer but really did not want to. It was easier to just make the part. For the price this is a good deal, but for most people they will have to pay an installer to put it in and any missing parts will just make things more difficult. I even bought and installed the fan for this unit. By the way the fan does not come with this unit. The pilot would get blown out by the fan every time the radiant panels shut down because they reached the desired temperature. I contacted customer service/tech support and was told this is a known issue with this unit. They told me I had to have my gas company come out to check/adjust the gas flow output from my gas meter. I would have to pay for this out of my own pocket. If you install this unit don't get/use the fan and maybe you'll be okay.
