Are these shades completely blacked out? (As in not see-thru)
Asked by: Reyjak
Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes, these shades are made of black paper, not sheer, so they are not see-through. They do a great job of providing privacy and darkening the room. Thank you for your interest in Redi Shade!

Are they reusable? Can you put them on and take them off pretty often?

Asked by: Hector
Hello Hector, and thank you for your question. Due to the adhesive strip losing some hold after removal, we do not recommend taking the shades on and off. However, you can definitely reuse the shade, but will possibly need another way to hold it in place, perhaps some double sided tape, Velcro, or tacks. On the other hand, if you need to raise the shade to let light in, clips are included to hold the shade in place, which may be better than taking the shade on and off. Thank you for your interest in Redi Shade!

Hello Pat, There are different ways to measure for shades depending on the installation method. Mounting inside the window casing the measurement method will be different from mounting outside the window casing. The Home Depot provides a guide for window treatment measurement on their website. They were excellent; however this last purchased were not able to hold with adhesive on a standard wall. Needed to use tape to reinforce the hold on the wall. Once that was accomplished all was well. The lack of function. Did hold as represented. . It was new. Did not meet my expectation. Over all rating poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic product This black out shade keeps light from coming into the room or getting out. With a pair of scissors I cut the width to fit inside the window frame. There is a strip of tape at the top of the shade that I stuck to the plastic frame of the window at the top. I was very pleased with how easy it was to install and how well it works. When I want light in or out I just fold it up starting at the bottom and use a couple of plastic clips (that came with it) to hold it up. The shade has a really good look about it which was another nice surprise. Four shades come in the box and 8 plastic clips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live (or sleep) without them. I've been using black Redi-Shades on my bedroom windows for over 15 years. They are very effective, durable, and easy to install and use, a great bargain. The adhesive has never come off when I didn't want it to, even after 2-3 years, though they peel off pretty easily when you want to remove them. I do have to replace them every few years when they tear, which they inevitably do when they're folded up and down every day, but they're still a great deal. I hope Home Depot never stops carrying them; my only complaint is that they no longer sell the black ones in stores so I have to order onlne.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for They are a cheap and easy to install solution. They do work. Yes they have a clip to adjust and not pull string, but these are not intended to be pricey functional blinds, they are inexpensive blackout blind that you adjust your length and place a clip at where you want it to stop. Had them up for about 6 months without problems, One corner of one of the shades has come loose but a little double sided tape patches that easy. These are installed by removing a sticky strip and you press and hold them to the top of the window. They are light weight and easy to install. Unfortunately after about 6 months of use 3 of the 4 shades have faded to brown from their original black, they were all bought and installed at the same time and no differences in shade / sun on them but the 3 faded and 1 has not. When initially installed you get a lot of the zig-zag appearance from the folding of the package, but if you leave them down at all times that does get lost and they will stretch out and look like lined paper in the window, still I don't think they are that unattractive but they are not $100+ blinds either. How ever you look at it, these are what they are and even now still do the job I bought them for which is block out the light in bulk, some light gets through but does block most and does help keep the room temp down.
