It appears these shades are only available online, however, I would imagine if you bring your receipt - which they also should have record if paying by their card - you should be able to have someone in windows / doors help with cutting. Answer:
Hello Louisa and thank you for your question.
Yes, the shade can be mounted on the wall or ceiling as needed. The adhesive is strong and may pull off some of the popcorn finish when the window treatment is removed.
Best wishes on your project.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple solution that does the job We needed a black out blinds for my son's room and this does the trick. He is able to open and close them on his own since he is 6. And the sun needed to be blocked from his west facing window. I thought I would be able to saw the ends off myself but my husband's strength was needed for a cleaner cut. December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to install and operate I used this product mainly for climate control. It went up in 3 minutes because it was the exact width I needed so I didn't need to cut material off the sides. It looks good and operates easily. I love it and plan to buy more. I put this on a southern exposure window for climate control. It's doing a great job of blocking heat generated by sun's rays. July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great shades I have shutters on my bedroom windows facing west, but in the afternoon the sun hits them and it gets hot in the rooms. also, in the summer, I want to pretend it is dark after 6pm and with just the shutter's the light still comes in. so, I thought if I had some shades it would block the light. these are the best ever. so easy to cut and install. I wasn't sure at first, but I got the hang of it and they turned out great. the peel and stick worked nice because I couldn't drill into my windows because of the way they are made. would buy again for sure. Great product if you are looking for a simple solution to light coming into the room where you don't want it. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy and Does What It Claims Very easy to install. Simply, measure, cut (with a serrated knife), and hang. Blocks 99.9% of light and when you want to let some light in, simply lift the blinds. No strings or rods! We live in Texas, and the evening sun is the hottest on our house, I think these will be very effective in keeping our house cooler. May 12, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but not great The blinds would be perfect, except the two blinds I ordered are not long enough. They say 64 inches, but both stay at 52 inches and don't cover the entire window on their own. I have to anchor them down using the window sill for complete window coverage. If you don't need the full 64 inches they work well and block out a lot of light. If your windows are over 52 inches long, they don't completely serve their purpose. April 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by exactly what we wanted This shade is exactly what we hoped it would be. Very easy to install and works great. Originally we only wanted it down for the morning sun that would flood our room via a large block glass bathroom window, but it has kept the room so much cooler we plan on leaving it pulled down throughout the summer. We didn't need to cut it to fit since the width of the window is 48inches. It has stayed firmly in place and blocks out everything. It's attractive and looks as nice as anything we could have placed there. Having spent thousands on plantation shutters throughout our home, this shade doesn't diminish the look of quality at all. We are very pleased with the purchase. June 11, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by They don't stay up I bought 5 and loved them at first. After installing the first couple, my husband got the hang of it and installation looked easy (adhesive). However, 4 have fallen down. We've tried re-sticking them to no avail. I emailed Home Depot for help but they didn't respond. Too bad because they looked like good quality and made the room look fabulous. If anybody has had luck installing them another way, I'd love to hear about it. March 19, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not at all what I expected The blinds are not an easy thing to cut to size. I had to use a combination of a good kitchen knife and a hack saw. Nothing seemed to cut it evenly. The plastic bottom is not very attractive either. December 16, 2014
