Answer:
Yes absolutely and very easily with a utility knife, I'll attach a video demonstrating it.
The shade naturally falls to about 40 inches, then you gently tug on the bottom to extend it down to 72in. . A good thing really makes them look fitted.

Answer:
Shades are easily cut with a lineoleum knife. Instructions show scissors, but that would be pretty tough. I haven't figured how to get a nice, clean and even cut (a bit uneven with the knife), but for the very temporary use I have less-than-perfect was OK.

Yes, this product is paper and is designed to be trimmed width-wise (as in 36in or less). But there's no reason you couldn't trim them both ways.
When you let the shade fall the folds make the shade fall naturally to maybe 40 inches, then you can gently tug at the bottom to stretch the folds to your desired length, up to 72 in. So unless you have a very short window, you'll be fine.

6 in a box each 36x72 yes. Although unless you have very thin windows, you'll need two per window. Just cut each to half of the width and you'll get the job done. Read Less

They are essentially one big sheet of paper that is folded (corrugated) every inch. When you unpack them one end has the adhesive on the last fold.
It also comes with 12 clips (Two per shade) that you can use to raise or lower the shade to your desired height.
I'll put a link to a video here, which helped me.

Hi and thank you so much for your question. The Light Filtering shade is a standard bottom up shade. Once adhered to the window frame, open from the bottom to adjust light control and privacy. Once the shade is at the desired length, use the 2 low profile clips to hold the shade open. Thank you for your interest in this product.

White Paper Light Filtering Shade - 36 in. W x 72 in. L (6-Pack) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good for paint removal I needed temp blinds because we had a guest stay before our permanent window treatments were due to arrive and installed. Unfortunately when I removed the blinds (4 days later), some of the paint come off with the tape. View the videos below to see what I mean. Good value for 6 blinds and the quality is..whatever, but you might want to pick up a can of touchup paint and a paint brush as well. https://youtu.be/jJUuw9qtZzs https://youtu.be/uRRynwnSOts

Place the tension rod with attached shade onto the window. Tension rod can be lowered to allow direct sunlight, yet maintain privacy.

I moved into a new constructed home during a busy work travel period so I don't have time to select and install permanent window treatments. These light filtering shades are a perfect solution to inexpensively provide privacy and actually look pretty good. I used them on a large arch window only hanging them over the two lower standard window sections leaving the arch section open. I was able to attach the adhesive strips along the top vinyl (mini sill) and they adhere very well. Just to be safe I reinforced it in a ew spots with a few small strips I had some specialty white paper tape I had. The pleating does come out a little over time but you can help avoid this by not letting extra at the bottom hang and stretch the bind. Clip the exess and let it rest on the sill. (FYI- The blackout version of these are slightly more difficult to deal with).

We are leasing, so putting in shades that are made-to-order would be very expensive. These block the light very well. Be aware that the sticky stuff on the top edge (to attach the shades to the window casing) has a tendency to give out after a couple of weeks. We secured them with Gorilla Tape.
