2 in. Vehicle Recovery Ring is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid ring - good for multiple uses Finally got one of these for my truck, more for the security of knowing I can help others as well as be helped in a jam, and for light pulling around the house (like dead shrubs). Out of the box the ring is much bigger and beefier than expected. Very solid feel to it. Note that you will need to supply a hitch pin, only about $3, but something to be aware of. For such a minimal additional cost it would be nice if this was included, but not a big deal. Ring fits securely in the receiver and swings in every direction. Can easily tow a car or SUV short distances. I used it to pull a dead shrub from my flowerbed. I would not however attempt to pull anything too anchored in as you run the risk of the line snapping and whipping back at your car or truck. Very happy to have this in my trunk along with a set of tow straps just in case the need arises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Accessory for the Truck RE: Reese Towpower 2 in. Vehicle Recovery Ring A great accessory that should be in every truck toolbox. I've used Reese products for many years now and have always had good experiences with them. Fits the standard 2-inch receiver. Like others have stated, the tow capacity is also dependent on the strength of the pin and clip. (Pin and Clip not included).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Accessory Though described as vehicle recovery ring, found that the ring can be use to pull large branches out with my Jeep to safer area for sawing by connecting the branches to the ring and tow ropes when recent storms downed large limbs from trees. Ball and hitch would worked as well, tying the rope to the safety chain links on the hitch but the ring was much easier to use and connected the rope more securely. Worked well pulling my classic vehicle out of garage which is located downwards on the driveway, so have to pull vehicle uphill. Ring is much safer. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy hook addition to your receiver hitch For me this is a great addition to my truck. It gives an easy way to add a ring to the back of my truck where I don't have a tow hook. It is rated at 10,000 lbs in any direction. The ring swivels easily when not under load. Do note that a hitch pin is not included, so you'll need to provide your own. As a general note, if you do use a tow strap for any kind of vehicle recovery, be sure you know how to use it safely. A tow strap under tension that slips loose will fly back with great force like a slingshot. If you happen to have a metal hook on the end of that strap, it will be just like firing a canon at whatever is in the path of that hook. So make sure you know how to safely attach and use that strap before you need it in the middle of nowhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not limited to recovery. This Reese recovery ring is an all purpose tool for me and comes in very handy.I have a class IV hitch on my Ram and have been using it for all kinds of work around the house like pulling up old stumps left by the previous owner and moving brush piles to chip.It is easy to use and I keep it stored in the truck so I don't have to go looking for it when needed which seems to be often. With newer vehicles its hard to find a spot to hook up a chain or tow rope, This is perfect and I don't have to worry about damaging my truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super heavy duty recovery ring Have been meaning to get something like this to pull out a couple trunks in the backyard. This seems a bit overkill for that however, that's fine with me. Fits nicely on my 2012 F150. With a 10,000 pound capacity, I'm pretty sure this will handle just about any recovery tow or similar activity. Kinda wished I had this during the last snow storm we had. Would've come in quite handy towing people off the road and such. As this has a swivel mount to it, it's not something you're going to want to leave on and drive around with as it'll make some noise. I normally use a step hitch when not towing and keeping this in the truck is now a must for me. Can't wait to truly test it out next time someone is stuck on the road during a blizzard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Safest and easiest way to connect to a vehicle. The 2 in. vehicle recovery ring is a Must have in any vehicle tool kit. If you are pulling somebody out or if you need to get pulled out this ring makes for a fast and easy point to connect to. My jeep did not come with toe hooks but it did come with a hitch and I prefer to pull from the back, and the closed loop is safer than trying to pull or get pulled from a front mounted open hook, and I have the experience of being pulled by a giant caterpillar from my front hooks on an old Jeep Wrangler in the past when I was stuck up to the doors in mud and the cables broke as the tractor was pulling and they headed right for the windshield. Luckily the cable just missed the windshield but I saw my life flash before me as the cables and hardware was heading my way, it ended up turning my antenna into a work of art, Lucky! In the future I will try to stick to closed loops and Nylon toe straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from built rugged There is not much to say about this recovery ring, except that it's rugged and does the job well. I purchased this after I stuck my riding mower in the swale drain channel and had to improvise a tow line to my hitch to pull it out. This ring simplifies that process and it fits tight and snug in the hitch housing...and I can hook a chain or a strong rope through the ring.
