Rated 1 out of 5 by from AVOID AVOID AVOID. An inferior product I am a professional Electrical Engineer. This is 25' of wire. SOUNDS SIMPLE RIGHT? WRONG! They completely messed it up the design and construction of this cable. CONS: 1. No connector on the end. If you are looking for a bonded connector so that water won't penetrate, this does not include the expected 4 way connector for these four wires. A complete wasted purchase. If you are using a 6 way or 7 way connector, you would need more wire anyway, so this should have come with a four way connector. 2. If you want to split the wire for two sides of a trailer, this won't work. There is only one brown wire. The white wire does run the entire length of the cord. So you could use the white wire in place of the brown wire on one side if you don't mind messing up the color code. But then you might not have enough white wire to do your ground wires. Also the white wire is on the outside, so you would have to split all four wires to use this wire with the normal two side wiring harness. What is the point of having bonded wires if you have to separate all of the wires? For this price I'd expect a good amount of wire. The white wire and the brown wires should be on the outside so that you could split the wire in half if you wanted to, but it was placed next to the brown. A good wire kit would have two brown wires, one for each side of the trailer because long wire means long trailer. Also, if you wanted to use the brown wire, there is not enough to run a lead over to the other side of a 20' trailer. 3. 25' sound good? No! This is enough wire for a 12-15' trailer if you run the wire down one side and then have to cross over, and provide some wire for a ground connection. You might as well by a kit for a 20' trailer and splice in some extra length, because that is no different than using this wire and having to splice in more wire anyway--either brown to run a lead over to the other side the trailer, or to run down the other side, and you will have to make a splice at the connector-- in which case you will need to BUY MORE WIRE! The typical 20' trailer wire kits comes with two brown wires bonded to either a green or a yellow wire. Very simple to fish through a frame compared with two loose wires. 6. Most wire kits include not only a 4 way connector for the trailer, but also a pigtail for the vehicle end. This does not include an vehicle connector or a vehicle pigtail. No connectors provided! 7. Wire seems to be a heavier gauge that the typical 20' wire included in a light kit however, I just checked and it is only 16 gauge wire. It looks better but it is not. Conclusions: What is important is eliminating splices and joints where water can get in and cause corrosion. I bought this so I would not have to splice wire to make it longer. Every splice is an opportunity for corrosion. This is particularly important for boat trailers that get immersed in water. Putting a splice inside a boxed in trailer frame means you cannot inspect it without pulling the wire. Chances are the wire will snag on something. The bottom line is this wire will fail because of the multitude of splices and you will have to replace it again. This wire will have a poor termination at the tongue end because you will need to add a connector on that end which will be inferior to a bonded connector. It is far better to have wire designed for a trailer with a brown and green wire for one side and a brown and yellow for the other side, and one that is long enough to put it in without splices. If you need extra wire for side marker lights, these should be run from the tail lights forward so that a failure at the side marker light won't take out your much more important tail lights. I am really ticked off I drove an hour round trip for this junk. Now I have waste another hour returning it.
