I need another key made for my Reese lock set that I purchased but was told at home depot that they don't make this key. How do I get this generic key? Lock smith doesn't carry this blank.

I would contact Reese directly rather than Home Depot, or alternatively, find a local locksmith who can fabricate a key for you.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lock up you toys This kit is great. So I just had a hitch installed and of course one of the first things I wanted to add was a lock to insure no one steals my nice tow ball. This kit by Reese Towpower provides numerous options for all your tow locking needs. Better yet they are all keyed the same, so of fumling for 12 different keys to find what you need. Today all I have use for is the tow pin, but I will be adding the receiver lock to my trailer next time I go grab it. Of all the locks the little one has a bit of play in it that is concerning, but that's okay because it locks well. I guess time will tell if it stands up, but very high initial impressions for sure. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Idea Lock Reese has come up with a good lock kit here !! As you can see in picture, the kit comes with three locks. One for the tonge, one for the receiver and one a small padlock. The tonge lock solves the problem of leaving ball hole open on a 2-5/16" receiver ! A 2" or 1-7/8" ball will fit in socket when using a pad lock. Problem solved !!! The pin lock has interchangable pin so it fits 1" and 2" receiver hitches !!! Also all 3 locks are keyed alike which is a plus ! Made in China is only con I can find ! May 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just okay product I must admit I am a little disappointed with this product. I was expecting better quality from a name like Reese. When the product arrived the yellow paint on the ball insert was already coming off. Putting it on is a bit cumbersome. It almost takes another person to turn the key while pushing the U-shaped bar down. It was hard to push down and turn the key at the same time. On a positive note it should keep your trailer safe from theft. May 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Totally Secure There is no way a thief is going to get access to either my trailer or my ball hitch with this system! The locking hitch pin is REALLY heavy duty. It's not going anywhere and it fits standard sizes, so installation is a snap. The trailer lock is super secure as well as it has an actual ball that fits snugly into the trailer and a heavy duty u-bolt that tightens the whole mechanism down. What a great solution overall and something that is easy to use on a daily basis. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reese Anti-Theft Kit This is a nice kit that helps keep your investment safe. The tongue lock clamps to the trailer tongue keeping someone from hooking up and taking off with your trailer. The pin for the receiver pin locks to keep your hitch safe from would be crooks. It comes with both ⅝” and ½” pins. And it comes with a ¼” lock for the tongue safety latch on the trailer to complete the security package. All of the locks are keyed alike and it comes with 3 keys as well. The bottom line is if someone wants to steal your trailer bad enough they will find a way but this will certainly make it more difficult for them to succeed. I believe that it’s added insurance and it helps me sleep better knowing my trailer and tow hitch is more secure. April 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Extra Security That’s Easy To Use This is a good setup for locking up everything from the receiver back to the trailer coupler. The ball coupler lock (yellow in photos) will fit any coupler from 1 7/8" to 2 1/2". The set has a separate paddle lock for the coupler locking handle, as well as two sizes of locking receiver pins. All the coupler locks use the same key so there is only one key to keep track of. The set is great for medium security. The ball lock (yellow) is made of injected aluminum and the paddle lock is of medium quality. The ball lock is a great way to convey the message to wood be thieves to just keep moving along. The paddle lock is a nice way to keep the handle on the coupler locked in the down position. With everything secure, from the locking receiver pin to the coupler paddle lock there is no way to remove a trailer from the towing vehicle. This is a good security system for storage or when towing. March 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Illusion Starting off with the Coupler Lock, the main body is a cast, and works with 1 7/8. 2. 2 5/16 couplers. Since it's powder coated I can't figure out the alloy. I'm thinking aluminum as its not magnetic. The U bar is Chromed metal. It's very soft material. It has 11 adjustments for various size trailers. The key assemble mounts through the body and pins the U bar. The Hitch pins are two different sized bent pins 5/8 - 1/2 that work with the same locking assembly. The locking assembly is a push button and latches after slipping on the Pin and then pushing in the button . The lock assemble has a rubber boot that covers the key hole to keep it water tight not water proof. The boot being made of rubber will seal it but ibeing made of rubber if it freezes it becomes brittle and the sun will deteriorate it over time . This boot is really a dust cover . The pins are solid but seem to be Chromed over a soft metal. The latch lock is Brass with a chromed pin. Box says it will fit most trailers . It doesn't come close to fitting mine way too large. So with all that said , the locks are all functional and will keep your trailer safe to an extent. This alone will not keep someone that is determined to steal your trailer from doing so.,No locks of this type will. This system is a good deterant and will keep most away. If your looking for something that will 100 percent keep a theif at bay , this is not it. A good saw, bolt cutters sledge hammer will do quick work of penatratiating this system . I have several trailers that sit for time spans in my shop. I use these ball locks to keep people honest and a layer of protection. I additionally have a wheel claw locks , the trailers axles chained to eye bolts sunk into concrete . Even with all that given time someone can still get your property. So,yes a good deterant no if you expect this to be your only line of security. I am not recommending this product because most have expatiations this is all you need to keep a trailer 100 percent safe from theft. March 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All my trailer locked up with only ONE key! Reese has always been a top-notch product and they carry on that tradition with this fine lock set. Now I can lock my receiver hitch, my trailer lock-down lever with one key! And when I get back home, or need to park my trailer someplace I can now lock that with an unbeatable locking system that will repel all but the most ardent thieves. And I do all this with only ONE more key on my key chain! April 14, 2016
