Customer Questions & Answers

i have a screened room with a tin roof. will this work putting it from the inside roof to keep room cooler

Asked by: customer
it may, if you apply it to the bottom of the roof trusses and have something like ridge venting to get the trapped hot air out. Don't think it would be real effective if you just form unvented hot-boxes.

I have just purchased the versatube steel building. Does it work for the steel walls and the roof?

Asked by: ARizonaHeat
go to the site and look at the instructions - or the videos on the HD site; that's one of the applications they show

Can I use this to insulate round sheet metal ductwork?

Asked by: Adrian
Thank you for your question. Yes, insulating your HVAC ducts is an excellent application. The BP48025 is the recommended product. Directly wrapping with taped seams nets an R-4.2 or incorporating a nominal 0.625" air space (the product cut into a 2" wide strips wrapped twice around the duct on 24" intervals) will net an R-6.0.

i have a pole building and plan to use this to insulate it. how well will this hold up and keep heat in garage from wood stove?

Asked by: nater
Reflectix wall and floor assembly R-values are valid year around (we state specific thermal performance “per application”). Our products are tested in the same manner as fiberglass and foam. Please refer to the product webpage – scroll down to “Product Overview”, then to the "Info and Guides" and click on "Installation Guide" - the applications are listed alphabetically, click on the installation of interest and you will be provided with the instructions that you require. Thank you for your interest in Reflectix products.

48 in. x 100 ft. White Single Reflective Insulation is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I installed Reflectix White Single Reflective Insulation on the wall... I installed Reflectix White Single Reflective Insulation on the wall studs of my roll-off roof observatory. The intent is to reduce heat intrusion and prevent the observatory from getting hot enough to damage equipment. I also installed Reflectix radiant barrier under the metal roof. It, along with a small gable-end exhaust fan, has successfully kept observatory temperatures below 100 degrees. The building had been an oven, 120 degrees or more, before installing radiant barrier and I had to keep equipment in my house. I used to feel the heat radiating from walls and roof. No more. Great stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective and easy to work with My basement has a stone foundation that is drafty and constantly sheds sand from the old mortar. It's not worth finishing properly but I wanted to make it useable for a workshop without investing too much time or money. The reflective insulation works perfectly for this, it was cheap and easy to hang up. The basement is noticeably warmer and less damp feeling now and the white outer surface dramatically brightened it up. I have no complaints about this stuff, it's light and easy to work but is tough enough to not accidentally rip.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product, poor handling from HD Very good product. Excellent for the ceiling of my pole barn. Handing of the material was TERRIBLE though. One box was battered and torn, and then taped back together. I haven't opened it yet to check for damage. Previous shipments of this material were fine. Not sure what went wrong this time.
