like many others posted, I installed the alarm in my sump, the water level is fine but the alarm was triggered. After many ways of trying to dry it out (had gotten splashed on in the sump) it won't shut off. Waste of $15.

Worked great for about 2 months. I tested it and it seemed loud enough, and worked very well. I hung it about 6" from the top of my sewage ejection pump pit, and after about two months our power went out and the water level got high enough to set it off. Worked great! problem is.... It would never shut off again. I dried it out for a few days, but noticed the sensor had corroded enough that it just wouldn't work anymore. I read another review that said the same thing... the thing would just never shut off after drying it out. I am going to try a different type from Home Depot. Hopefully it lasts longer.

I wanted a water alarm that I could lower part way into a sump crock - I want to know when the water level is high, but not overflowing. Other alarms are for a flat surface, at which point the water would've already overflowed. However, with the wire on this unit, I can put it down about 2" from the top of the crock and be warned prior to overflow, so that I can take corrective action before a problem occurs. Battery is easy to install, alarm is sufficiently loud.

It works. It was delivered in a reasonable time. They keep bugging me for this review.

I put this alarm in a dry spot inside my sump. It seemed to work for a few weeks, then this morning I heard the alarm going off. The sump pump is working fine, so I pulled the probe up from the hole where it floats above the normal water level. The probe was completely dry and yet the alarm still continued. I tried swapping batteries, and even brought it inside into the air conditioning thinking maybe the high humidity in the hole caused it, but the alarm does not ever shut off. I'm going to try to order another one and see if maybe this unit in particular was just faulty.

Not only was the on line purchase process and in store pickup process flawless, but the product was exactly what I needed.

I'd never heard of one of these, but Home Depot prompted me to purchase one (as an option) when buying a sump pump online. I thought it sounded like a really good investment (and the plumber who installed the pump agreed). My only complaint I suppose would be that the instructions weren't terribly intuitive. I would have appreciated a picture as an example of how it might look to have the sensor in the hole...and how to secure the sensor to the wall of the hole. Part of my frustration is probably at myself though honestly. I read one set of instructions, talked to the plumber to come up with a plan, and then AFTER I read through everything to see if I needed to keep them for the future for any reason...and THEN I realized that there was a sinker weight included (and how you were supposed to attach it). Grrr... :-)
