The specs state SAE 30 motor oil which I have on hand & use for other small engines. Is this the same as Bar & Chain Oil?
Asked by: blue123
You are supposed to use bar and chain oil. My manual says do not use regular 30 weight engine oil.

It leaks oil when it is not used. But It cuts down tree branches easily (up to 3 inches in diameter) and very easy to use. My last 14 In Remington chain saw lasted for over eight years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chainsaw for me I just needed something to cut a bunch of branches and dead aspens that have accumulated in my back yard over the last 15 years or so. I've only had it a couple weeks but it has already cut through most of what I needed it to. The biggest I had to cut was 5-6". With a handsaw it would have taken forever but this chainsaw would go through that in seconds. Just a heads up that it doesn't come with chain oil, so buy that separately and make sure you push the button once in a while to keep the chain well-oiled (yeah, I actually read the owner's manual on this one!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Little Saw LIghtweight easy to handle, seems to make its way through as much 10-12" diameter tree limbs although these can be somewhat tougher than your average limb.

Light weight, cuts good and easy to handle for someone who has back problems and carpal tunnel. I tried to upload a picture from my phone but was not able to. I wanted you to see how much wood this 65 year old woman cut in a few minutes with this saw. Worth the cost as it would have cost me as much to hire someone to do it and now I can do it whenever I have limbs to fall from the tree.
