The powerful 8 Amp engine drives the saw with a 10 in. kickback bar and chain, with a quick option to convert from pole saw to chainsaw. Attached to the telescoping pole, the saw has the ability to cut high branches up to reach 10 to 15 ft. overhead (depending on user's height) to easily trim high branches and tree limbs.

Chainsaw with fully extended handle is too heavy at the end to be practical. 2. Clamping levers to tighten length of handle extension are only plastic, and only a quarter inch across near pivot and hollow. One snapped off with first use. Metal levers would solve this design defect. Remington should be seeing this review; not just customers.

One problem when I first put it together was that the switch on the saw could not be depressed far enough to allow it to work with the pole, however I was able to shove a shim in the switch and it worked fine after that. To the reviews that say it's too heavy on the end of a pole -- what exactly do you expect? It's a chainsaw on a pole, of course it's going to be heavier than a chainsaw not on a pole. It's not that heavy and actually pretty easy to use. It cuts well. I wish the pole was about 8 feet longer, though.

It cuts well, is light to handle when used without the pole and needs your full attention when used on the pole. That is when it feels heavy, but you need to remember, you have about ten pounds or so at the end of a six foot or longer pole. It's going to feel different. Read and follow the instructions and there should be on problems at all. Keep it oiled. Keep the chain adjusted. Make lots of wood chips.

I will say that the biggest detractor is the weight. Depending on the length of the extension it is a little difficult to hike up and hold, then when it cuts through the saw will drop quickly. I have seen this similar comment in other reviews and agree. I also question whether or not the pole will stand up to that weight over time but have not seen any comments about that. The pole does appear to be designed to take the weight so it should be fine. It is still safer than climbing up the tree with a chainsaw in one hand and holding on with the other.

The Pole Saw is very easy to use in cutting tree limbs that are even as large as 12" in diameter. It is very well built & has a positive procedure to adjust the chain & keep it working. I would highly recommend this to anyone, that has a large number of trees to keep the low hanging branches trimmed.
