How to install it on tile roof?
Asked by: LEO
You probably need to have a professional cut the hole and install the unit, because the flange at the bottom needs to go under the tiles.

I did a lot of study and this fan really came out on top to me in terms of value. Once it arrived, its clear this is a well built product. Brushless motor, overall quality and including a thermostat and humidistat were key factors in the decision.

I can feel a difference in the temperature in my attic as well as in my home. I would have given 5 stars but I wanna see how long this thing is gonna last. Just installed about 5 months ago.

I installed this fan on 4/3/2017 to reduce the temperature in my attic. My attic area is 2000sf. According to specifications, this fan is supposed to cover 2500sf and remove 1550 CFM. Therefore, one fan should be enough to cover my attic. However, I purchased 2 fans, enough to cover a 5000sf attic and remove 3100 CFM. In addition, I purchased the 110-Volt adapter so the fans will work with electricity when there is no Sun light. I have a roof facing South and the solar fans are working almost all the time, but they are useless because the temperature in the attic remains almost the same as when I had no exhaust fans. For example, when the outside temperature is 90 degrees, my attic temperature is still is 120 degrees, when the ideal should be to go down to at least 90 degrees or less, especially with two fans!!! I think the fans I purchased don't have enough power to exhaust air according to mfg. specifications. In my opinion, these fans are useless. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the installation and I will have to pay again to remove them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design I had purchased two of these put one in temporarily to see how it performed we got a rain shower and it leaks at the base of the collar the joint is only tack welded no sealant inside or out so the fan when operating creates a updrafts that sucks the water in also the stainless steel nuts and washers that penetrate the top of the hood do not have any neoprene washers underneath them one of the washers starting to rust I bought this because of the brushless motor since I have bought a brushed motor a cardinal through Home Depot which is built much better

Have had these fans (purchased two for my 2300 sq ft attic) for about a month now (Apr 17) and they appear to be working great. Not much prefabrication needed and they started working immediately. The instructions were really vague and after contacting Remington several times for clarification, the installation was easy. I used a heavy duty adhesive to secure it to the roof and marine silicone to seal around all exposed edges that might leak during a rain. Can't even hear them running from inside of the house. Turned out to be a great product.

I compared and researched first, then consulted with the Remington tech people before I bought. (Thank you Remington). My attic has never been cooler, and it made my new HVAC system more efficient as well. My house is 1400sf with a 5:12 pitched shingle roof, and I bought two of these fans. During my re-roof, I placed each one 1/4 of the distance from each end of the roof, and just below the ridge. They of course must coincide with passive vents - so I put 3 O'Hagin vents on each side of the ridge (6 total). The air flow is amazing and means that on many days I won't have to use the AC at all to keep the house cool, so that's another savings. I bought one accessory kit from Remington to connect them to house wiring and a wall switch, so I can use them after sundown on days when it's still hot after dark. After 35 years in this old house, finally a real solution to removing attic heat, and it costs nothing to run.
