This is a great product. We redid our deck and decided to use this product to help keep it nice for years. You do have the option of brushing out the second coat to make it a little bit more smooth. We decided to leave it a rough texture and it's not painful at all with bare feet. My only complaint is that the product is very, very thick. I had a difficult time getting it to spread across my decking. We had to go back and purchase another box to complete the second coat. We were told that you can add about a cup of water per gallon to help thin it out a bit, and that seemed to help for the second coat. We also used the Restore Deck Stain for the railings, stairs, and runners. It worked great and went a long way. Looking forward to not having to redo my deck for years. Thanks!!

The idea behind this is good. The execution of it is horrible. One box should cover 2 coats on a 50sq ft deck. So I bought two boxes. One gallon didn't even get half the deck done (see image). You will need a LOT more than they recommend. If the weather is warm at all, the product begins to dry and harden in the paint roller tray and paint can before you can get a chance to use it all. I followed the directions and even made sure I was doing it exactly as the video shows. At first it came out beautiful, as you can see on the right side of the photo. But by the 8th board, it was drying in the tray faster than I could work it in and now the last 2-3 boards look like poorly poured concrete (boards are 8 ft long). My deck is 15x12 and it will take at least 10 gallons to do 2 coats. What was supposed to be an economically smart alternative (under $100) is going to turn into a $200+ project. But I can't back out of it now.

I used this product last summer on my 500 sq. ft. deck. Went out this s[ping to strip out a few spots where it was peeling off. When I got done taking off all the loose spots, 1/3 of my deck was down to bare wood.
You think Rustoleum could make a product that could withstand a KS winter.

I went above and well beyond with my prep as I wanted this to be a long term finish. My deck was by no means in need of a refinish but figured doing it early would only help it live longer, so my prep work was performed on good material. I had about 2 weeks of hot dry weather before applying and another 2.5-3 weeks after for cure. When it did finally rain this product didn't even make it through the first day before it was blistering and after about a week of off and on rain it had failed completely! I am now trying to scrape off the few areas it did adhere to and applying a new product before winter sets in. Not happy, not happy at all!

I purchased this last June, worked on prepping my patio for two days before starting the project. I bought 4 - 2 gallon boxes or more at around $40.00 each followed all directions and it has started to flake off in big chunks. Wondering does this company stand behind their product? For the first 5 months the patio looked great and I was very impressed, but not after seeing the big flakes coming off. I will have to redo this patio now this spring. The best advertising is word of mouth and I will be letting people know about this product. Very dissatisfied with the product.
