Customer Reviews

Deck Liquid Armor Resurfacer 2 gal. Kit Water Based Beach Exterior Coating is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! What a great look it gave my pool deck I put on a 14x14 deck last summer at my pool. I could not afford to buy the Trex decking so I used wood even though I knew the issues of aging, cracking and splinters. I was going just to cover it with carpet then I came across Deck Restore. I did alot of research on it last fall and decided this was it. I left the deck "weather" untouched over the winter and purchased 4 gallons of the beach color. Oh, thanks Home Depot for lowering the price to right when I was going to buy it! On a sunny, non humid clear 70 degree day when I got home from work I applied my first coat after masking off all the posts and bottom of the railings, this stuff does splatter ALOT. I mixed two gallons in a bucket along with 2 cups of water (just to help it go a little further), mixed with a drill paint mixer paddle and poured it into a paint tray. It went on like a dream, as I used the included roller from Deck Restore and applied as their You Tube video stated, push down and roll forward. I did find it covers better to roll across the deck boards first then go over it again this time going with the length of the board. For tougher to reach places and around the posts I used a brush and "stiple" painted with it, worked great and gave the same look as the roller. It dried quite quickly but I gave it 36 hours before I applied the second coat. The only thing I would have done different is I wish I would have painted between the boards first then rolled it on, I just didnt like being able to see the sides of the deck boards, but thats just me. I did go through afterwards and paint in between with the remaining product so all is well. Also, I still have about a 1/4 of a gallon left form the original 4 gallons purchased, so I think I got alot of coverage on the 14x14 deck and steps out of it. Also, I stored my cans upside down when I brought them home so the sand is at the top and it came out quite easily and yes, I did go buy a cheapy spatula to scrape all of it out, which I suggest doing. I am now going to paint my house deck in the gray this weekend as I am so pleased with this product.
