Rated 5 out of 5 by from awsome product our deck was so slippery and with a pool it was getting dangerous, We tried a a few products before with no results.. Looking at RESTORE i new this was going to be a investment, did alot of research and i saw more good remarks than bad So we went for it..Best project i did this spring. I see people that don't like it and i think what it is that you need to do all the steps for prep work washing and let it dry completly before appling, BEST INFO IS ON YOU TUBE AND COMPANY'S WEB SITE and be patient and plan a couple weekends..AWSOME PRODUCT NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH A SLIPPERY DECK THANKS TO RESTORE!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is expensive and hard to use So let me start off by saying that I am a realtor, I have built 3 houses and have "flipped" 5 more. I do almost all of the work myself and have never hired a painter. I have done specialty finishes like venetian plaster before and it has always turned out spectacular. My fiance has a house with an elevated deck that is about 20 years old. It had 2 coats of old chipping paint on it that we stripped off last year so we could use Restore on it this summer. It took us about 12 hours to strip the old deck to prepare it. Restore is like painting with a sandy milkshake. The roller that they provide is not effective at applying the product at all to a deck that has cracks in the boards, you really have to apply it with a brush to fill in all of those cracks. Our deck is only 12x12 and to do 1 coat on just the decking takes about 3 hours to get good coverage and I only used their roller they supplied to apply the texture to it. I appliied the product itself with a brush to get it on the boards, then rolled the roller across it while wet to texture it. The stairs took another 3 hours per coat, and we also used the product on the underside of the deck as well so it would match. We probably have over 30 hours into just applying this product. I did the second coat on the stairs yesterday afternoon in 75 degree weather and 16 hours later it is still wet to the touch. I would never recommend this product to anyone. It is hard to use, you can see big drips between the boards of the deck that there is no way to really wipe up while you are applying it. also, we had one 4 gallon bucket that the product didn't mix well, there was a large ball of sand stuck to the bottom of the bucket that never mixed in and there were large goops of product that was like a layer of skin on the top of the product had gotten mixed in and we had to keep picking them out. If you keep your deck framing and only replace the decking boards with engineered decking you will spend way less time, just a couple more bucks, and it will last way longer and look way better.
