There is a plastic tab on the handle that you need to press against to open the handle where the blades are stored.

Answer:
That's a great question fred. First extend the blade fully the depress the 2 rubber buttons on the tip of the knife. Gently pull the blade out. (pliers are a safer way to do this). Place the new blade in the knife gentely and retract the blade . If you did this correctly the blade goes in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Quick release button doesn't work. I thought it was me, now I see that there are many that can't change or even get a blade in it to use it. I'll take it back in the morning get a Milwaukee

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really? There aren't many things that a utility knife has to do well to be considered a decent tool. Unfortunately for this knife, the ability to install and change blades is one of them. I had to go watch a YouTube video to see how it's supposed to work, but the one I have seems broken - I can't get any blade installed, and now I see from other reviews that it seems to be a common issue. Will be returning this ASAP.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money Installed blade but it would not move out with lever. No way to remove it. Garbage! Now I'll have to drive a half hour to return it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother Wish I could give this "Zero" stars. Blade changing feature does not work, could not add a new blade. Lack of instruction or no video posted with the sku is abysmal. Returning tomorrow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quick Blade Change did not work I like the feel of this knife and the I like the extra blade storage, it comes with five blades in all. Unfortunately, the quick change mechanism on the knife I bought did not work properly. I looked up the video on youtube and sure enough I had been trying it correctly but the button itself did not depress far enough to allow the blade to slide. I had the length extended all the way too so that wasn't it. I finally did get the blade in by unscrewing the star screws and placing it in manually but that certainly wasn't a quick tool-less blade change as advertised. I probably spent 20 minutes messing with it. Frustrating, I will likely take it back because every blade change will be like this. Not sure I want to gamble on this knife again even though based on other reviews I suspect I just received a faulty unit.
