Answer:
These can be installed above another shelf. I bought 4 of these units and installed them on a lower and upper shelf. ( I didn't want to saw out the middle shelf on my kitchen island.) So the Rev-A-Shelf single base basket was the perfect solution!

Answer:
Yes this can be installed on a shelf above the lower one. Just make sure you have a high enough space for what ever you plan on putting on the shelf. I only have one of these as I do not have a shelf above, however, under my Stove Top, I have a cabinet where I put my pots and pans. I installed a wider shelf on the bottom and one on the shelf above. Works great for me. Very easy to install.

Answer:
No, the basket does not lift out. It is permanently attached. The exception would be the under sink caddy, which is made so that the basket can be removed and carried from location to location, and replaced when you are finished using it.

Answer:
If you are referring to the slides, then no...the slide cannot be drilled. If you are asking about the base bracket, then yes as long as you drill a hole through the runner in order to insert a screw.

Answer:
I installed 4 trays on one closet. Two on the "floor" of the cabinet and two on the shelf above it. You just need to make sure you have enough room for two on the floor of the cabinet. The outside of the package will tell you how much room you need to install each one and of course, you need to allow a space between so that they do not rub against each other. You can use a combination of sizes in trays.

The "official" photos show the slides being on the sides of the basket. But all the comments seem to indicate that the slides are on the bottom. However, it appears in some of the customer photos that the slides are on the sides. Can you chose where the slides go when you order the product? Is there an option when you install it? Please clarify as I was planning to buy several until I started reading the question responses. I can't use bottom mounts, they must be side mounts as shown in the product photos.

Answer:
The slides are located on the sides of the basket, not on the bottom. The slides are elevated approx. a half inch from the bottom brackets that screw into the cabinet. You cannot choose where the slides go. There is no way to screw these into the side of your cabinets.

Answer:
The slides, glides, etc are the metal ball bearing rails that allow the product to slides in and out of the cabinet. The slides are on the side of the actual product but the product mounts to the floor of the cabinet.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for small item in your cabinet I didn't want to use my entire cabinet space with the pull-out baskets so I decided to use 1 to organize my small items and left the rest of my cabinet for larger boxes and food products. Works great. August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So excited to receive these! These are super high quality shelves and very sturdy. I love the full 7" height of these shelves that Home Depot offers. Other big box stores do not sell the 7" tall version. They were very easy to install. We had to make a few revisions to our kitchen island during the installation due to an electrical outlet box hidden inside the island. We also elected to retain our middle wooden shelf and install 4 single Rev-A-Shelves rather the purchase the double Rev-A-Shelf option. August 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cabinet sliding shelf for trash bins We were constantly tripping over our kitchen trash, recycling, and compost bins sitting on the floor, my wife wanted to install an alternative way to tuck these away in a cabinet. While shopping at my local home depotco canned across this product with two large bins. I searched online for one that would hold the three smaller bins and this one came up. Installation was easy - four screws into the bottom floor of the box. I also added the door mounting kit that really made the whole setup look custom! Great addition to our kitchen. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mmmmm... organizing A bit stiff to roll, not a lot of clearance for install in our cabinets but otherwise perfect. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rev-A-Shelf Wire Basket Base Cabinet Pull Out Easy to install, maximize space, total access to rear items! August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Problem Solved with Rev-A-Shelf! We had a very clever design for our cats' litter box under the cabinet with a little opening in the door for the cats to go do their business in private. It worked great except that the high sided litter box was extremely heavy to lift and pull out for the daily cleaning. I don't think the Rev-A-Shelf product was designed for this application but works great. We can now slide out the litter box for easy access and no heavy lifting. The shelf is heavy duty but extremely easy to install in minutes with only four (4) screws. We have since bought Rev-A-Shelf laundry hampers and they are extremely high in quality. All are a little bit expensive but worth the extra money. Way to go Rev-A-Shelf! January 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well Made This unit is the second of the "D" series basket I have purchased. Like the prior unit, it was very easy to install and felt remarkably well built. You will like the smooth pull-out action and sturdiness of these baskets. Worth the price. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Kitchen improvement The instructions say all you need are a screwdriver and 5 minutes to install one of these, which is a joke if you're working in a tight space between shelves and the wood is hard. I think the first one took me about an hour. If you have enough space to get a drill in there to make pilot holes, 5 minutes would be realistic enough, however. We wound up tapping an awl with the side of a hammer, and that worked reasonably well. Installation could be easier if you could get the basket off the base, but they are permanently attached and hard to work around when you can barely get an arm in to the back of the cabinet. The baskets work well and seem quite sturdy. They take up some space and of course leave a little dead space behind cabinet center posts and along the sides and might make it hard to store as much stuff as you had in there before, but it's worth it for the ease of access. They pull out far enough to see and reach everything easily. August 2, 2016
