Adding from my previous review on November 10th. Taylor from revo customer service was great when I had a defective DVR (push notifications failed). We trouble shooted and could not fix the problem so DVR was replaced and have not had a hiccup since. Have had system for over 6 months now. One thing I wish the DVR had was a more complicated password since it is the same password you use to access through you portable devices. At present there is only numerical characters and hope to see an update that will allow alphanumerical passwords for better security against possible hackers.

In my previous review I stated how this product was not Apple friendly. I was able to get the App to work for my iPad and iPhone. I like it now that I have it working. I found a video on you tube that shows how to set it up on your electronic device. I am impressed with the functions and what I am able to do from great distances away from my home. The App for my Mac book pro is still not functioning and I am unable to find any instructions on how to set it up. I am still trying to get it to work. For the system itself it was an easy install with no problems. The picture quality is good and I have no complaints. The system has more functions and capabilities then what I need. I still only give this 3 stars for lack of Apple support tho..

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by K9BO Home Depot is great, Revo no good
I bought this for the remote viewing feature only. The system was easy to install and the picture quality is decent. The problem is the remote/mobile viewing doesn’t work! It also doesn’t work with Apple Products. You have to download an app for apple products that doesn’t work. Plus the mobile view only works on your wifi system and not when your away from your home!! If you don’t need or require remote viewing then the system is ok. If you do then don’t buy REVO!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by deepintheheartoftexas Excellent night vision. Bright, clear day colors.
Easy to set-up. REVO allows you to set-up a free DVRNS address for easy online/mobile phone access. My internet IP address is dynamic, as are most residential accounts, and the DVRNS account works flawlessy. You can view different screen configurations on your mobile device. For example, 1 camera with scrolling screens; four cameras with scrolling screens, etc. Also, you can freeze the live video; and you can 'search' (rewind + play) the video from your mobile device (we use an IPad and Iphone4). The best extra benefit-audio is included on the first 8 DVR inputs. The cameras all have built-in microphones. The sound is clear-we can hear when birds are chirping and when cars pass by. The cables include power, video and audio and connect easily to the cameras and to the DVR. The night vision is amazing. I replaced a older 12 led camera system with the 700 tv lines/32 led cameras (80 foot nightime viewing) and was astounded at the night time clarity. The daytime (color) viewing is bright and clear. We bought extra cameras and have the full 16 camera system. We recommed a larger monitor (we are using a 27inch) to view all the cameras at once. Hint: Test all your cameras by plugging them directly into the DVR BEFORE you install them with the cable. One of ours was DOA.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hermes Don't waste your time
If you are thinking of buying a Revo product, my very best advice is - don’t waste your time. My first conversation with “support” (after waiting on hold for an inordinate amount of time, while hearing over and over how great their company was and how important I was as a customer) consisted of going around and around with someone with a poor command of the English language – and even less product knowledge. I kept trying to explain that I was carefully following the instructions in that manual, and he kept saying I wasn’t doing this or that right. After all of this I could stomach – I was finally succeed in demanding (all the while be told couldn’t do it) to speak to a supervisor - after waiting no hold. After explaining the problem to the supervisor, he asked if I was using Internet Explorer and what version. I replied yes the latest update (which happens to be 10) and was informed that their programming is not compatible with IE10. But, they had a workaround, and the manual wasn’t just misleading –it was just flat out wrong. The next day it was more of the same with another problem until I was cutoff when demanding to speak to a supervisor. I got tired of waiting on hold on the third try, and asked myself I really wanted to do business with the likes of Revo. I decided I didn’t. I then called Home Depot and very graciously received no cost return authorization number. It’s so long and bye bye Revo.

Fairly easy to set up as long as you read the directions. Only problem I had was setting up the mobile app for iphone. Quickly fixed with a call to customer service, turns out it was my mistake entering in the username. Works flawlessly, the hardest part was installing the cameras. Setup was fairly easy as well. Video quality is great in day and good at night. The Motion sensing with push notification system is very sensitive and give many false alerts however would recommend to only activate push alerts for areas that don't have much traffic. There are ways to tweak the sensitivity but requires a lot of patience and is still far from perfect. Would recommend the push feature for indoor cameras only in a residential setting. Audio is great ( picks up every thing even unwanted background noise) but does the job well. Mobile app works well and is pretty easy to navigate however needs some updating. When you get a push notification on your phone and press ok it opens up the app & takes you to a list of push notifications that tell you the same thing that the push notification just told you. When you acknowledge the push notification it should open the app and take you directly to the camera footage of the motion alert. It doesn't and you have to manually press 4 or 5 other commands to get to that screen and then scroll the list for the most recent notification. I also wish that you could play back the audio which you cannot. Can only play back audio directly from the DVR as long as you have speakers connected to them. You can pause the video on playback from phone or tablet on ios (apple) devices and take screen shot pictures for photos you can send via text, email, etc..... The back up to memory stick feature is fairly easy to use as long as you read the instructions or tinker with it to learn on the go. You have a choice to back up single or multiple camera surveillance which is a nice feature. The iphone app can use an update for the new 5s model to view the whole screen. At this time it doesn't utilize the full length of the screen on playback.
