Rated 3 out of 5Â by islandboy Delivers warm water at reduced volume
I purchased this product because I wanted to do a simple replacement of the old water heater without wiring in a new line for a higher amperage requirement tankless water heater. This was rated at 30 amps, which is the same as my old one. Installation was easy, but you need to buy adapters because this has a 1/2" feed while the standard water heater uses 3/4" pipe. The water is mildly hot at the highest setting of the thermostat. I live in Hawaii, so if you live in a cold clime don't expect to get hot water. Also, the water flow is reduced because of the smaller pipe. If you have a large family, this is not the right choice. Overall, I would rate it as average.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by JW423 Good product so far
While we have only had this product about a week, it performs as advertised. It serves as a dedicated unit for the kitchen, which is the longest run in the house from our regular whole house on-demand unit (which takes an inordinately long time for hot water to reach the kitchen). The delivered water temperature and flow rate are highly dependent on the temperature of the incoming water and the temperature to which you want to raise it. In our case, the incoming water from a deep well is around 60 degrees. The unit is set to heat on its highest setting, so the water is hot enough but not steaming hot.
The flow rate is adequate but not gushing - When you switch from hot to cold you see a slight increase in flow rate - not particularly meaningful. Adequate for the dish washer as well. If we wanted to get a higher temperature and flow rate we should have purchased the next size up, the RTE-9. It requires a 50 amp service and we decided to settle for the RTE-7 at 40 amps. I'm not totally comfortable sweating copper joints so we brought in our plumber, who installed it with no problems.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Jamie Good for 1 sink if incoming water is not too cold
I installed the 7kw heater to boost the water temperature at a sink in the garage, far from our main water heater. It does the job; no more waiting for the water to warm up to wash my hands (or using freezing cold water).
This heater may not be adequate if your groundwater is cold or you need a high flow rate (shower, dishwasher). Our groundwater comes in at 45ËF and this unit is not able to make it hot without help from our main water heater. But as a booster for the sink it works great. It activates at a low flow rate, so you don't need to run a lot of water to have it hot.
It is compact and fairly easy to install. It fit in the cabinet under the sink. There were, however, no instructions for the electrical connection; I was initially confused by the wiring. The unit comes with a short cable out of the bottom so you don't need to open it up to connect the wiring. The cable had three wiresâblack, white and bare (ground). I always thought white was neutral, but in this case it is the other hot (usually red). Since it is a straight 240V appliance, it doesn't use a neutral, just the two hots and ground. Once I figured this out, installation was straightforward.
The 7kW unit draws 29 amps, so it requires heavier wiring and a dedicated circuit; I converted a 30A circuit that was previously used for an electric dryer.
I would recommend this for a single sink if your incoming water is not too cold and you don't need high flow rates. If you need more than this, then you should consider a bigger unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 Lukewarm Review
Provides adequate warm-hot water depending on the temp of the supply water. If the supply water is very cold you get lukewarm water. When the supply in not very cold you get warm-hot water. It is being used to supply hot water to a bathroom sink that is primarily used for occasional hand washing
Hopefully it will save money over the 5 gal elec water tank that was in a cold overhead/attic.

The water temp cannot be set above medium without the thing shutting off. Difficult to reset. Water temp varies greatly while it is running. When you mix in cold water at the tap the hot water heater shuts off. I would never, ever recommend this to anyone!
