If you are installing this Concentric Vent in a "Vertical Configuration" an elbow of 45 degrees is REQUIRED for the fresh air side vent (see picture). I'm totally confused why Rheem/Home Depot would include a 90 degree elbow with the kit. Sure 90 degree elbows can be used elsewhere in custom venting configurations but they are not required. Rheem should include a 45 not 90 degree elbow (with the kit) then let custom installers add their own 90s and vent pipe to complete their custom installations. If they don't see the value in doing the above, they at least should sell a 3" Schedule 40 (45 degree) Elbow Part to fix the kit shortcoming......watch out!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sloelrnr description wasnt exactly correct but product was great
This is a concentric vent for two 3 inch connections. It is not vendor specific. You will need to use your heat units documentation to determine minimum run lengths. Using a 3" vent kit for a smaller unit or very close to your house is not good. Bigger may not be better.

I recommend this product ONLY because you need it for install but you STILL have to get PVC fittings for a simple install

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CAPTJ Product was complete and had good fit and finish.
Item arrived in a timely manner. Installation was held up due to weather. Upon opening shipping container the item was found to have suffered minor damage prior to shipment. Item was returned to the purchase location for replacement. Previous item of the same type was installed easily, I expect this one will be the same.
Instructions were minimal. They did not comply with those in the water heater for which this is an accessory product - IE were 'stand alone' rather than complementary.

With the spacing restrictions on the intake and exhaust on tankless systems, its nice to have a simple piece that only requires one hole through the side of the house, and therefor easier to hide. Little pricy for something all PVC, but very happy with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thomas Finally, copious quantities of hot water.
This product delivers plenty of hot water. Could not be happier with my purchase.
Our house had a 50 gallon gas water heater that barely delivered 5 minutes of usable hot water in the winter. The master bath is located on the opposite side of the house from the water heater. Didn't seem to matter what temperature was set on the tank water heater -- always arrived lukewarm.
With this Rheem tankless the water arrives at the temperature set on the unit within one minute. Have not been able to notice any variations in the temperature while running. Can stay in the shower as long as I want, and I do.
The unit fires immediately and shuts off immediately. Really a well-engineered piece of equipment.
Installation instructions are straight forward. However, this is a difficult installation due to the different skills required to install: gas lines, water lines, electrical, intake and exhaust piping, exhaust condensate piping, intake condensate tubing, and safety valve tubing.
