Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gaileod We really like it now it is installed.
After ordering online (as it is not available in-store), we discovered the vent parts required are a separate order and also not available in-store.(thus,another week delay waiting on order) We had a friend who is HVAC experienced do the install and it was a good thing. We had to reroute water and gas lines and the instructions had conflicting info so I had to consult the 800 number for clarification. It was a long day to install and NOT an easy DIY project, even for my husband who is very handy and mechanical.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Trip So far so good
My friend, a journeyman plumber, finished installing my tankless water heater along with an icemaker for my refrigerator today for which he charged me $350 labor. I don't know what Home Depot's contractors would have charged but I think $350 was pretty reasonable, especially for two installations. He spent about 12 hours over two days installing it and the icemaker with no help. ( I think only about two hours of that time was spent on the icemaker.) He didn't have any real problems with installation other than a cut off valve he bought at Home Depot is leaking and will require replacement.
The only drawback I've noticed so far is this...my kitchen faucet is 6 feet from where the unit is mounted yet when I first turn on the water it takes 35 seconds for hot water to start coming out which seems a bit long to me.
As a few other reviewers have mentioned, the stainless steel venting required for the unit is not carried by Home Depot and has to be ordered. All the venting necessary for my installation cost me $393, including tax and overnight shipping. I also spent an additional $75 at Home Depot for other necessary parts, i.e. brass connectors, elbows, nipples, etc. (this does not include the parts I had to buy for the icemaker installation.)
I've included a few pics...the unit took a bit more room than I imagined it would but wasn't a problem. I may be doing this review a little soon but if I have any problems I'll update the review. Hope this helps.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissatisfied Won't last to 5 years
Have had this Water Heater for 4.5 years. Problems with water heater kicking out after a period of use - Code 5 then to Code 13. Have to go and turn power off and then back on to reset. Proper maintenance pulled yearly - flushing and so on. Have good water softener with a pre-filter. Nothing has changed - gas, water or venting. Problems of it kicking out started about - year ago and has progressively gotten worse. Went on the web and found out that these units have issues and there are many other with exactly the same issues and problems. Ran great for the first 4 years and now to only wind up with problems like this along with many others. Be aware that you might save a bit on gas, but your water bill WILL go up as it does take some time for the water to heat up going through the tankless heater. We live in town and the cost of water has gone up significantly as opposed to gas. As far as service from Rheem - Good luck, my experiences where the same. Experimenting/2nd Guessing along with the parts play and swap outs in the hope to get lucky and find out what the problem(s) are. Reviews on items are nice when they are new, but remember what the costs where initially and ask yourself if was that great after a few years of use down the line. Do your research carefully before purchasing!!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stanley Product is SUPER!!
The purchase price of $601.00 including tax was not much more than if I had purchased a conventional tank water heater. The tank less water heater installation was a little more involved. However, I feel that the wall mount design, operation and expected savings will justify the extra installation work. Also, this type of water heater should last longer then conventional water heater in areas with hard water issues. You do not have to replace all your existing 1/2 inch water lines with 3/4 inch lines. Only approximately the first five feet of water line into and exiting heater should be 3/4 inch. The delay in receiving hot water at faucets not close to heater has been similar to the delay with a standard tank water heater. The incoming gas line must be 3/4 inch black pipe to insure proper heater operation. This 150,000 btu water heater provides PLENTY of hot water! It does NOT run constantly during demand time. It cycles on and off as required to maintain water temperature! The only downside I have to report is that installation was more troublesome due to the fact that Home Depot does NOT carry needed installation items (special 3-5 heater vent pipe kits and water fill and drain combination valves which make for an easier, cleaner installation). This resulted in wasted time and money finding and driving to plumbing supply stores that had required items I needed!!! Thank you, Stan, Northeast PA.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Steve DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT
The unit was easy to install and did great for the first few years. Now my wife and daughters stay angry with me because almost daily we have to go and disconnect power to the unit to try and get it to reset because of an error code 13. After some research I have found that error code 13 is an oxygen sensor error that is internal to the unit and is apparently a deficiency that Rheem has started to recognize is their issue and started replacing units.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ronla50 One of the worst deals of my life.
After receiving this product, I found out you have to have a 3/4" gas line.
After running the gas line we tried it. It wouldn't work.
I called Rheem and they said that you have to have special flue piping.
The cost of this was over $600.00 for the flue pipe.
I tore out the heater and replaced with a standard gas one.
Buyer beware, no matter how cheap the unit is, it's still not worth it.
I ate $1,000.00 and still have a heater I won't use;

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by R1949 Product is great and compact
Had product installed professionally by Home Depot as I am not able to do this. I chose this heater mainly because I didn't have a place for a regular hot water heater. The only thing that was disappointing is that the website does not say that you have to purchase an additional $400 worth of piping over and above the cost of the heater.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by familyZ tankless vs. tank
Very satisfied. I have been telling everyone that it is the best investment that I have made on my old house. I recommend to research, as I did, before buying to make sure you are purchasing the best one for your needs, plus to get the "not included" installation requirements. I will never go back to tank again.
