Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than a Bosch-Pro Tankless I have had a Bosch GWH-635-ESO-N for years and wondered what was so good about a tankless water heater. Took a long time to get hot water to the destination, and had cold spots in the hot water line. Started having error codes and would have to reset all of the time, which meant going outside to the unit. My new Rheem has a control panel in the house if I ever need to reset it, I am using much less water because I turn on the hot water tap and get hot water like it is a regular tank unit. I do not have to heat up my hot water prior to plugging in my portable dishwasher and then keep the water running in another faucet so that it doesn't error out and shut the hot water off. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to go tankless but was worried about wasting so much water because it sends the hot water to the tap so quickly that I am sure my water bill will go down. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Love it, still had hot water after 3 people finished showering. Arrived before they predicted. Need to buy cut-off valves for hot & cold water, pressure relief valve, cpvc with elbows for making turn and running lines and small amount of electrical wire to hook up the thermostat. Did it ourselves!!!! Pollie April 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Natural gas tankless Excellent product; installation did take a plumber and electrician, had to redo some pipes and i'm not "handy" at all so hired people to install. Quality and Value; completely satisfied with the product too many cool features and space saving to list; plus excellent rebates for the product!! Highly recommend (location Phoenix, AZ) January 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Customer Service with manufacturer My local home depot did not have this product in stock. However, they had one in stock 30 miles away and was reduced $300 due to a discontinuation of the product. So we happily drove for the savings. I had a plumber come out and run the lines for both gas and water. I mounted the unit to the wall (as the instructions stated), ran up a 5" diameter pipe 12" prior to the 90 degree bend, then ran the unit outside. The instruction manual states that I may have up to 39" prior to the gas being expelled. I have roughly 8 inches prior to an exhaust system that will not trap water. 5" pipe is ran the entire way. The unit will not produce hot water, only warm water, and only for a few seconds. We called Rheem at 4:30 on Friday and had emailed them a copy of the receipt at 4:50. Their office closes at 6:00. We were told Rheem would send out a technician on Saturday to look at the unit. We call back Saturday AM and are informed that no technicians work until Monday. We were apologized to for being lead to believe we would have someone come on a Saturday. We call back Monday and are told Rheem has no technicians in the area, but if we buy a $90 Rheem ventilation kit the unit will work fine. Unfortunately there is a 3-7 day wait for the part to be sent to us as Home Depot does not carry one in stock in the greater Atlanta area apparently. We will be returning this unit and purchasing another unit from a different store as Home Depot only carries Rheem products. This entire experience does not represent any issues with Home Depot as they only sold us the unit: this is all the manufacturer. December 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by The tempeture is too low for good hot water. Need to have an factory tech to reset the tempeture to 140 degree. The need to have a Factory Technician reset the tempeture to 140 degree is a lot of trouble. It takes a long time to get the water hot. February 18, 2014
