Bought this to replace an electric tank water heater hoping it will save on energy usage. Our certified installer didn't have much trouble until we had to get a vent pipe to go thru the wall. Home Depot does NOT carry the vent pipe either in store nor online. So one must go to Amazon to find one. Cost was about $89 but with expedited shipping ended up over $100. Still was without hot water for 9 days. Why does Home Depot not sell the vent pipe that must be used with this Rheem heater?!! We searched other stores in our area and no one carried this size vent pipe. We do, however, now have plenty of hot water. We had to set the thermostat to 130 to get enough hot water for dishwasher. Just hope it will save on energy usage.

Product and Rheem customer support Very Good!!!!
Can Not say the same about My experience with Home Depot. If you are a DIY person....purchase the water heater from a source that has the necessary vent kit.
I found out After I made my purchase that it was not available on line or in any local Home Depot.

Took 8 days to get the vent pipe that fit this Rheem heater. Which Home Depot does Not carry in store nor online. Shame on u Home Depot! Had to order from Amazon. But once we received the vent installation went smoothly and we have plenty of hot water. Hope this will save on energy usage over time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JRay We like it. Plenty of hot water
We've been using this water heater for about a month now. Really happy with it. its summer now and keep the thermo set on 114f and have plenty of hot water. comes with easy manual. best part its easy to handle and install and it only heats what ya need. I live in West Texas and our water is extremely hard. I highly recommend a water softener installed upstream of this unit and maybe a small inline filter if you have dirty water or well use. it does have a built in cleanable filter though. I went with propane after a January ice storm left us without hot water for 5days. this unit needs 120v for use. but draws small amperage for generator use. im running 3 faucets and 3 showers.

The tankless heater is a god bit more complex to install than a conventional heater due to the need for 3/4" gas and water plumbing but especially due to the 3/5 SS vent pipe required.
WHY, HOME DEPOT, do you not carry the SS Cat III venting required for this heater? And WHY, HOME DEPOT do you not carry 180K BTU appliance lines?
The lack of these items in your inventory means I had to go to YOUR COMPETITOR for them.
But the install went off ok after I purchased the necessary materials from HD's competitor. The heater runs well. You cannot identify any difference at the faucet from a conventional heater. Looking forward to saving on my propane bill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TERRY GREAT REPLACEMENT
THIS IS A REPLACEMENT OF OUR FIRST TANKLESS WATER HEATER THAT LASTED 15 YEARS. SO WE KNOW THAT ALTHOUGH THE ORIGINAL COST MAY BE HIGHER THAN A STANDARD TANK WATER HEATER THE ENERGY SAVINGS OUT WEIGHT THE ORIGINAL COST. PLUS THE ON DEMAND FEATURE PROVIDES ENDLESS HOT WATER WHEN DESIRED.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ASG411 Great product, very satisfied with results
While the install was quite a challenge working on a hot roof and in a hot attic, I'm very happy having taken the extra challenge to replace my water heater with a tankless. The special stainless venting is the hardest part to get just right but worth the effort. Endless hot water and a large savings in propane to boot.
