Very fast shipping the heater. Very straight forward installation, I liked very much that I didn't need special venting and was able to use 3 inch PVC. It cleared up extra space in my utility room and looks much nicer than the big bulky tank heater too. It doesn't seem to heat the water enough when running the tub or shower, even with the temp turned up, which is strange because the temp stays the same with both tubs are running.

I totally love my new high-efficiency tankless water heater. However, if you're going to install it yourself, you should download and become very familiar with the installation instructions (which are very good) before ordering it online. For instance, it requires service by a minimum of 3/4 inch water and gas lines. You shouldn't forget to also order the service valve set and, maybe the scale inhibitor system. Also, during installation, don't overlook or assume anything. For instance, there is an internal DIP switch setting to change for use at higher elevations. Now, we never run out of hot water which, with a handicap walk-in bath on a 40-gallon tank, had been a problem.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by arsmusic Good water heater but NOISY
I replaced a very old tankless water heater that was installed wrong in a outside closet. The outside closet was next to the washer/dryer and shared a common wall that is facing inside. The install was easy. I had 3/4 copper pipe in the wall. The old home owner for some reason used 1/2 copper coming off the 3/4. So, I had to cut the wall open and change it all to 3/4. I had to connect the 1/2 drain pipe to the washing machine drain a few feet away using 9 feet of tubing. I also added the intake and exhaust 3" pvc scheduled 40 by drilling through the stucco. In total this took me about 6-7 hours. I am not a plumber and this was not hard to do. I have done a very small amount of plumbing before though with copper pipes and solder.
About the noise. The old tankless was not noisy at all though it hardly worked. This new one works great with the hot water. The noise is in 3 stages. The initial kick on about 2 seconds. This is the loudest part. The second medium decibels 3-5 seconds . Then the 3rd which is not that loud at all (until you turn the heater off then it goes on for 1-2 seconds longer). If you just turn on a little bit of hot water (not the shower) like a sink there are only two stages of noise. Stage one then straight to stage three. Stage one is the loud part. Here is a break down from a spl meter measuring the water heater.
Water heater off room noise = 48db
1st Stage kick on = 72db
2nd stage kick on = 67db
3rd stage kick on = difference unable to measure
This was measured one foot from the inside wall directly where the water heater is on the back of the wall. So, there is the water heater then drywall (the top and bottom where the WH screws into the wall has plywood the rest is drywall) some insulation r13 or so, the 2/4 studs then 1/2 drywall.
Also, the noise is not just noise. It is also vibration. They really should have internally isolated the vibration like they do with some microphones and VR type camera lenses. If the instruction said something about this I would have built a mount to insulate the vibrations before I installed it. If I want to do this not I have to redo the copper pipes and intake/exhaust.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dominik Household of 2 adults and 2 kids- 8 month mark
I installed this unit myself with a friend and it took 1 full day to install:
*Removal of old water heater
* Redid the gas line - 1" all the way to tankless (70ft from gas meter)
(supplier installed bigger gas meter and ran new line to house prior)
* water line/service valve installation
* new vent/drain to outside of house -3" PVC (30ft)
All went smooth and has been working without any issues for 8 months now. I just did my first vinegar flush today. Some fluid discoloration was there but not bad so unit wasn't too nasty - Michigan water.
I love this unit. I can bath both kids, run dishwasher, wife takes a shower and me afterwards and I still have hot water!!! Never going back to standard tank units!
I have noticed a ~$15 savings on my monthly gas bill . Increased water usage, but we added another kid to the household so hard to say if we are taking longer showers because of the unlimited hot water or not :)
As with anything in this world, installation and maintenance is key to longevity of any product. I will check back here in a year or two.
TIP: When you first get the unit, take it outside, install the service valves, connect your garden hose and pressurize it. I read one review that one of the water line couplings inside was leaking and so did mine. Little clamp came off, I assume during shipping. Clamp on - water stopped leaking.

Unit came with complete instructions, completely assembled. Parts needed were spelled out, were ordered at time of original order. Install was straightforward.

Cost to install is about twice of a normal tank. Due to new lines needed. as expected wait time for hot water is about 10-15 seconds longer.

Installed my Tankless Water Heater 2 weeks ago and it is operating great. The unit is extremely quiet when compared to my old power vented gas water heater. I had a hard time deciding between a tank and tankless water heater and now I am glad that I went with the tankless.
