Answer:
Although square footage of your home is a factor for heat or insulation etc but it really does not matter for watet heater. What does matter is number of people for showers, amount of laundry used with hot water cycle. Do you use a dish washer and how often. The more people the bigger unit you will need

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A plumber installed the unit. A little complicated but with a qualified installer, it was not a problem The unit seams to be performing very well although it has only been in use a short time. April 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hot Water is a beautiful thing!!! We transitioned from a traditional electric water heater tank to a tankless system. Wish we had done this a long time ago!! Bonus....reclaimed space in laundry room!! January 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You'll need a bigger gas line if installing in an older home. Make sure your gas line is big enough to support the heater. I spent more on gas upgrades than I paid for the heater. Remember there will be considerable lag time between turning on the heater and getting hot water to the faucet. You will also have an annual service call for a plumber to descale the unit. December 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Please making sure your gas pipe is big enough before you buy it! My house has the existing 1" gas pipe and this water heater request 3/4" gas inlet. I thought I can replace my old tank water heater with this little water heater. After city came to inspect, I learned that because the BTU of this water is 157,000, It use 3 times more gas than my old one. After inspector's calculation, the existing 1" main gas line is not big enough for current gas appliances plus this water heater. Now, I spent several thousand dollar to install new dedicated 1" gas line just for this water heater. Please making sure that you have a large gas pipe before you buy it! Also remember, the unit doesn't come with service valves and local Home Depot store don't sell it! June 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value - Tankless Water Heater The unit was fairly easy to install and thus far is working well. September 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 6 months of usage, and meets expectations The supply of hot water is more than adequate for our reasonably small family. We decided to buy a unit that exceeded our demand because the incremental price was so small. Our unit was installed by a general contractor who failed to read the installation instructions. The unit kept shutting off every time we used it, and needed to be reset. The reason is because there was a drain plug that needed to be removed. It was clearly marked "REMOVE UPON INSTALLATION". I called tech support to report the error code on the control panel, and they guided me to this drain plug immediately. That solved the problem. Excellent customer support. I'm going to remind everyone that tankless means "unlimited" hot water. It doesn't mean "instant" hot water. Depending on the ambient temperature, we get hot water in seconds or minutes. The longest run is 30 feet to the most distant sink. To offset the delay in the hot water arriving, I bought an under-sink, 4 gallon, 120v hot water heater. This gives me the water needed while the tankless delivers the rest. September 16, 2014
