Rated 4 out of 5Â by Bill Working flawlessly but is loud.
I installed this unit about three weeks ago and it has been working great. This is not my first tankless water heater but it is the first time I have purchased a Rheem. I had been waiting for a model that uses pvc for intake and exhaust when this one finally came onto the market. The water heater appears to be well made and installation went smoothly though this is definitely not a job for a do-it-yourselfer. The only issue I have had with it is that it makes a considerable amount of noise when running, this is why I am giving it a four star rating. I will probably have to sound-proof my entire utility room to cut down on some of the noise. The noise mainly comes from the blower, Rheem should spend some time developing a blower that is not so loud. Keep this in mind when choosing a location to install this unit in your home.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Greg Just installed - works well
I am a DIYer - Took us ALL day to install, but we took our time and none of our water or gas connections that we made leaked at start-up. Once completed, we turned the unit on and water poured out of heater box! Opened up the cover and found a hose clamp was lying in the bottom of unit. From the factory, one of the connection "O" rings was not seated properly and the looking at it, I know the hose clamp could never have been attached properly at the factory. I pulled the fitting apart and re-seated the "O" ring, attached the missing clamp and turned the water back on. No leaks! Blew the water out of the unit and let the circuit board dry. Fired it up (plugged it in and turned on the gas) and it worked like a charm! How water comes out well. Unit is a little noisy, noisier than our old "tanked" water heater, but not an issue as it is in the basement. This was last night. Had a long "hot" shower and look forward to many more....

Rated 4 out of 5Â by nicotime once you get everything to install it is a snap to install
Product works very well , had to put it at 140 degrees to get the temp my wife wanted.
Installation is pretty straight forward, toughest part of this was finding out what parts came with the product and what parts needed to be ordered so actually install it. it took a week of researching and finding where to buy. then it took a week to get the tankless water heater only to find out I needed to order the chimney for it.
Warning also if you are replacing a tankless one you may need an adapter for the gas line to the base of the water heater gas inlet.
Product selling could be improved by linking all parts available for this model as accessories you may need when installing. my chimney kit came with a 90 degree elbow to link into the 45 degree inlet to the chimney, I cut it a couple of times and used both ends to fabricate my own elbow as a 45 degree elbow I bought was the wrong angle also.
Those two install issues once I had the correct parts went easy, getting there caused a few mumbles and numerous trips to plumbing stores.
But I know have hot water again and an endless supply, well unless I run out of propane lol

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jctip929 Excellent Unit! Water is always hot and never lets up
Installed this unit in my home about 8 months ago. I installed myself and is pretty easy to install for the DIY. Electric control panel controls the temperature you desire. The unit runs quietly, never makes a sound until you turn the water on. Have noticed a HUGE difference in the amount of LP gas used previously by a 40 gallon LP gas hot water heater. Old unit came on every 15 minutes and ran for 10 minutes to keep water hot. This unit only comes on when you turn on the hot water and doesn't take long at all for the hot water to reach the fixture. A lot of people think this is "INSTANT" hot water, however it is not. It takes roughly the same amount of time to get to the fixture that a standard water heater does. That just depends on the water pressure and the GPM you purchase. It is however "ENDLESS" hot water. No more adjusting the water temperature in the shower or bath because the "tank water heater" is running out of hot water. Couldn't have asked for a better unit. You will be satisfied with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PF001 Very Satisfied so Far
I just finished the installation of the heater this week and so far I am very impressed with the performance. Hot water is available at the tap or shower head in about the same amount of time as the previous tank heater. The supply of hot water is excellent â I can run three showers at the same time, all of them at a temperature hotter than I can stand. I have not detected a change in water temperature while in use, such as during a shower. A digital control console is included that is used to adjust the temperature, up to 140 degrees (where I set mine), and it can be remote mounted. When the heater starts up you can hear it run, but the noise level is low and not at all objectionable. Mine came with an intake/exhaust termination kit packed in the box (not sure if they all do), which gives a neat finished look outdoors. So far I am satisfied with all operational aspects of this heater. I just hope the reliability is as good, as a simple tank heater it isnât.
Installation can be done by a do-it-selfer, but only if that person has above average plumbing skills and has an attention for detail. Cobble together types should leave it to a plumber. It is necessary to lay out the installation well and get all the parts & materials in advance, as there are a number of unique aspects to the install. There are also other expenses that will add up, such as the service valves (I used Wellstone ¾â full port with double valves on each) for $70 - $100, the proper PVC tubing (not all types are acceptable) and the possibility of a gas line upgrade as ¾â (from regulator to heater) is required. By the time I purchased all of the above I was close to $2K, but I had a difficult installation due to LP tank distance and a difficult heater location.
No matter, so far I would still fully recommend.
