I am a diy type of person, that said I wanted my plumber to do this one. After 2 months of waiting I decided to get it done. No plumbing experience (some common sense) and about 3 hours, the old tanked water heater was out and this tankless was in.
Searched online and turned the temp to 140 instead of the default max of 120. Ran it for a week at 140, then turned it back to the 120. Even the 120 comes out the faucet warmer than my old tanked water heater.
Cut my gas usage in half during the summer when the furnaces are turned off. And now all 3 showers can run at the same time without running out of hot water in the first 5 minutes.
All and all very pleased.

I purchased the Rheem ECOH200DVLN from Home Depot to replace a Bradford White 48 Gallon Powervent tank unit that started leaking. I have a 4 Bedroom/3 bath house and so far this unit delivers consistent hot water as needed. A can have the washer and two showers running simultaneously without issue. The units fan(which turns on when there is a call for hot water) is much quieter than the power vent on my previous hot water heater. Please note that if purchasing this unit ensure you order the service valves as well as these are needed to clean the unit on a periodic basis.
As this unit requires a 3/4 inch gas line, movement of all water lines and PVC work to vent and provide fresh air I hired a professional to perform the install. I am glad I did so as he spent a day to remove and install the new unit. In short, this unit works well and is a great value at the price point being offered by Home Depot. Yes, labor to install is more than a standard tank, but endless hot water with a longer warranty and space savings is worth it.

Home Depot's Customer Service was EXCELLENT when we reported a missing part and the manufacturer's lack of response.
I cannot thank Home Depot enough.
Our family is very happy with the end result!!

The water heater replaced a 13 year old tankless heater. It provides much more hot waterand and is more efficient than the Bosch it replaced.

I have a week of use with this unit. My mind might change after seeing my utility bill at this point I'm not happy. It's a pretty expensive so so product. For The size of water heater I needed this was close in price. I did the install as well. For the extra parts it ran around 350$. So far I have had plenty of hot water. It was fairly easy to install. Just a bit time consuming. It did free up a lot of room. The down side: 1 it's not very hot. I tried reprogramming it several times you can see how on youtube, Didn't work I can't get it to go over 120 degrees. 2 it's loud I'm going to try some things to quiet it down some today. I can hear it up stairs and feel it vibrate too. Its Not horrible but not great either. 3 it takes a long time to get hot water to any place in the house, especial first thing in the morning. At first I didn't think it would bother me but it is starting to. Its a bit of a hassle to have to wait 45-60 seconds for warm water just to wash your hands plus you are wasting water so I end up washing them cold. I like to conserve that was part of the reason I got the tankless water heater in the first place. I will try and update after more time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rachael Product Great - Overall Experience Disappointing
The water heater arrived with a dented front panel and a loose bracket inside. The dent isn't a show stopper simply a disappointment given the amount of money spent on unit and not having the ability to drive it to the nearest store for another one in better condition (not sure about other HD but ours didn't stock this unit and it had to be ordered online delivered to our home.) The loose bracket inside was luckily nothing more than just that. Again, disappointing given the money spent and inconvenience of exchanging for another. Called the number provided by HD for install info and was quoted $4,800. Then she said $3.800 since I already bought the unit!?!?! I questioned if I was hearing her correctly. That's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on installation. My boyfriend was able to install by himself. It was smooth but time consuming. Haven't had any problems with the unit since we started it and so far very pleased with it's functionality.

I'm not a plumber, but pretty handy when it comes to DIY projects. I've installed this unit in my home now for about a month and it works great.
It's very quiet. The unit only gets louder (fan speed gets higher) the more water you pull through it. It's rare that all three bathrooms in my home are pulling max water at the same time, so for me this unit is very very quiet.
It's very fast and accurate. The hot water comes out at its desired temperature only a few seconds after water starts running through it, and the temperature stats pretty constant. I was abled to bump up the max temperature up to 140 F by following the instructions on a YouTube video.
I was planning on using two more of these units to replace my boiler used for space heating, but being that I'm no plumber, I didn't realize that a "boiler" is different than a "water heater." This unit CANNOT be used as a "dedicated" space heater, and can only be used in combination as a water heater and space heater. I cannot tell you if the unit is good in combination set-up since I'm only using it as a water heater, but their tech support mentioned that if water entering the unit is above 120 F, the warranty is ruined and that the heat exchanger will most likely fail. So after doing a bit of research I purchased a tankless boiler for space heating and will continue using this unit as a dedicated water heater.
One minor problem that I encountered (not the fault of the unit, but myself) is that the unit kept turning on and off very rapidly, and intermittently without any water demand. This was due to my improper installation of a portable water expansion tank that didn't have enough pressure. Make sure to provide the same amount of water pressure as the pressure on the supply side. My pressure gage was faulty wify led me to put only 40 psi instead of 60 psi. I guess causing the expansion tank to expand and contract, pulling and pushing water through the unit at a rate close to the trigger rate.
Venting was easy. Pvc schedule 40 all the way to the side of the house through the ceiling in between two joists.
