Rated 1.9 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not get hot at all it didn't even hardly get warm. Had to send back and get the RETE 7. It gets up to about 110 degrees. l WATER FITTINGS ALSO LEAKED. TIRED OF MESSING WITH IT SO I WILL JUST HAVE TO BE HAPPY WITH LOWER TEMP May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Warning: Does not use consumer plumbing pipe attachments! Copper pipe ONLY! I replaced a 13 month old piece of Eco-junk that had a five year warranty advertised, but only one year on parts. It was a plastic little piece of junk, for almost the same money, but it had consumer screw-on fittings that attached directly to the sink. The Rheem is a very sturdy unit that should last a very long time, but the threads coming out of the unit are for compression fittings that require a soldered copper pipe conversion to the pipe thread that matches sink faucets. I spent hours trying to find adapters at very specialized shops, to no avail. I do have copper pipe solder abilities, and finally just made my own adapter pipes. I use it on a bathroom sink with a .6 GPM output and it does not warm up instantly, but after 15 seconds, it is good for hand washing and does retain that heat ability for as long as you want to use it. Shower output would be very minimal! Instructions specify very heavy 10 gauge wiring in the building, but it did work fine on a dedicated circuit with regular 12 gauge wire. I would expect this unit to perform perfectly for a very long time. Just be aware of the custom installation requirement and minimal output. February 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Insufficient The heater would increase 46 degree incoming water to only 60 degree. Incoming water too cold for insufficient heating capacity. March 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A small space & energy saving water warmer The first unit lasted one day; it was quickly replaced by 800 HOME DEPOT. The water warmer (increasing temperature) over incoming works well (L-H) but there is no thermostat as the increase depends on the starting temperature. The problem with installation is the non-standard 1/2" water heater fittings; they are also of different threading than the building's standard plumbing. It took two HD helpers and I over 90 minutes to create a "fix" of adapters that required some soldering; no big issue, but using standard 1/2 or water heater 3/4 inch fitting would have made this a much easier DIY install. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointed with the unit Has a bad design for the output and input for the water. Hired a plumber to install and still not satisfied with the results. Will recommend this product and suggest the Home Depot drop this from offering it to the public. January 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failure of product All directions were followed and plumbers installed it.. At med heat heat a slight stream of very luke warm water came forth. I turned it up to high and the water was warmer. We had had such trouble with it I decided to keep it cause it would serve my purposes. The unit doesn't really perform right and needs a good look at the problems before selling to public. The idea is right but it needs to live up to its specifications. Or the directions for installing the product need to be better. Or the product itself needs to be reliable 100% of the time. Somewhere something is wrong with this product July 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product was not packaged with all the parts TWICE!!! We purchased the first product at home depot. It did not have the brackets included in the box. We spent money on an installer who could not do the work and had to pay them to replace the old system so I could have functioning sink plumbing. I bought a second unit online and had it delivered to my home. The installer discovered that box had only 1 bracket instead of 2 and he had to go to Home Depot to have a second bracket fabricated. I had to pay for that extra part (which should have been included) and my installer bill was triple what it would have been if the first product had been complete with all the parts! I'm totally disgusted! August 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worthless This product does not work. It was difficult to install. The water still does not get hot instantly. I have to wait 3 minutes for the hot water to come from the other side of the house before it will get hot. That is exactly what it was doing before and the reason for the purchase in the first place. Trust me, the installer had NOTHING to do with the product not working. April 7, 2015
