On the Marathon water heater msr50245, can i use the 3800 watt element instead of the 4500 watt ? Do i use # 10 wire ?

Answer: 
The part numbers for the 3800w elements are: Upper SP610130, Lower SP210198. Yes 10 AWG wiring can be used with 3800w elements.
