Still going strong after a year.....
Easy to install and light enough for 1 person to move in place. 2 people to carry it down stairs though.
I replaced the included heating elements with stainless steel ones because my water is nasty.

We needed a water heater ASAP and Home Depot had this one available. We picked it up in our minivan, drove it home and my husband got it installed before he went to bed. From time of purchase until it was finished took about 5 hours. It's working well and we have hot water again which is what we needed. It was the least expensive unit at the most expensive operating cost, so it's not fantastic, but it gets the job done. We are thankful for it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WarrenS installed one in a rental a year ago and going strong, so I'mbuying another one for another rental.
An electric hot water heater is one of the easiest things to replace in a home for a major appliance, just make sure that you fill it with water before you turn on power to the unit, otherwise you will kill the heating elements in a matter of seconds. I'm putting these 50gal units in 3 br / 2 bath homes with no complaints of not enough hot water.

very easy to install. 1 star taken off as heater had dings to the outer case (this doesn't affect heater operation or capacity).

Our old water heater blew out on a Sunday and we needed a replacement quickly. I went to Home Depot, got the electric Rheem 50 gal., 6-year heater, and installed it myself. Filled it up, plugged it in, and presto, hot water! Don't believe anyone who tells you this isn't a good heater -- they probably have made the mistake of plugging it in before filling it with water. Also, don't transport it by lying it down on the front of the box. We also have a Rheem heat pump. They make good products.

this is a very good water heater . Installed it myself in three hours including removal of old one. I was supposed to have it installed by home depot , but I was not contacted until three days after the purchase. Then I was called and emailed for about two weeks asking if I wanted the installation. I am very happy that I did it myself

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son and daughter in law. We installed it on a Friday and the top element was DOA. So we got it going with just one of the two elements. Could not get any Rheem service because of the weekend I guess. Too much hassle. So we decided to by a new element. No one in the North, East or South side of Houston had one. Had to order from HD and it took a week to get it. Before it arrived the other element burned out. They were taking cold showers. Found the water heater has the cheapo elements in it, so we bought a better ones and replaced both of them. Too much time and inconvenience. Go with a better model.
