how do you drain this unit for winterization I see no drain like the larger units

"Point of Use" do not come with a drain valve. The unit will need to be drained through the hot and cold water nipples.

Where is unit manufactured?

Asked by: bob
Well it is a Richmond water heater but looks identical to the Rheem water heaters and is actually made by Rheem. I wish they were made in America, Home of the free and Land of the Brave but I believe they are made in Mexico. But mine is working well

Customer Reviews

15 Gal. Electric Point-of-Use Electric Water Heater is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little water heater Works as advertised. We are using it to heat water for a shower and bathroom sink in our Alaska home. I installed it connected to a timer to save electric cost. 4 stars because it doesn't have an indicator to tell when it is on and heating. Also the electric connector is on the wrong side for the way I did the install so the cable has to go around the heater a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Water Heater for Our Cabin This water heater worked for our summer cabin outdoor shower excellently. There were 19 of us taking showers after swimming in the lake. The kids all showered together in their bathing suits. There was plenty of hot water for all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Damaged Merchandise Water Heater came damaged. Looked like it had been dropped. Shell was dented and the drain valve was broken. Still usable and couldn't wait to install, so we replaced the damaged drain valve.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected Tank did not have a separate sediment drain which I needed because I have well water with a lot of sediment. Even store plumber was surprised when I went back to store to explain this. I would have taken it back but had to order on line because none of area stores had one and I needed a tank ASAP. Tank was also expensive for it's size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Water Heater Just what I needed for my small cabin. Meets our needs and at a great price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice water heater, Damaged I only gave 3 stars as I have installed 2 of these for customers and both times they have came banged up, this last one looked like it fell from about 4 feet. I don't know if this happens during shipping or some place else but to get 2 seperate orders and each one damaged when they arrive will have me looking locally. The heaters are working as they should but don't look the best.
