Answer:
I don't think there is a drain- youd have to install a valve on the outside of the plumbing connection at the botom I think which is the cold water inlet, so not sure that would work- but it seems like the illustrations in their installation guides.

Hi Wil, hover you mouse over the icon on the web page. You can then see the drain. Also check out the link below on page 14 of the install instructions. This tells you the steps to drain for extended periods of non operation.

Well it is a Richmond water heater but looks identical to the Rheem water heaters and is actually made by Rheem. I wish they were made in America, Home of the free and Land of the Brave but I believe they are made in Mexico. But mine is working well

This water heater is designed to meet a wide range of applications. It fulfills a demand for a small water heater that can be installed in a limited space such as under countertops, in cabinets or in a closet. The water heater should not be located in an area where leakage of the tank or connections will result in damage to the area adjacent to it or to lower floors of the structure. Where such areas cannot be avoided, it is recommended that a suitable catch pan, adequately drained, be installed under the water heater. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice little water heater Works as advertised. We are using it to heat water for a shower and bathroom sink in our Alaska home. I installed it connected to a timer to save electric cost. 4 stars because it doesn't have an indicator to tell when it is on and heating. Also the electric connector is on the wrong side for the way I did the install so the cable has to go around the heater a bit. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Damaged Merchandise Water Heater came damaged. Looked like it had been dropped. Shell was dented and the drain valve was broken. Still usable and couldn't wait to install, so we replaced the damaged drain valve. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Water Heater for Our Cabin This water heater worked for our summer cabin outdoor shower excellently. There were 19 of us taking showers after swimming in the lake. The kids all showered together in their bathing suits. There was plenty of hot water for all. July 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hunting Cabin Purchase Well we got it installed with very little difficulty reusing most of the original fittings and after we got it wired up, guess what? It Worked!! This went into an old Hunting cabin that we all frequent and we installed it during turkey season and worked great for us while we were there for the week, of course we don't shower there, mostly just personal hygiene and the regular dishes. Worked Great! June 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Water Heater Just what I needed for my small cabin. Meets our needs and at a great price. May 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad customer service Take too long for hot water... Some time no hot water for 3 days April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for our needs We have owned this product for less than a month but thus far we find its function to be excellent. June 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Online shipping issue I ordered this online to pick up in the store. I received it dented and the overflo valve was missing. The store was not helpful and I had to make two 25 mile trips to the store to get missing parts that cost me more money for the parts that were missing and the gas money. I am very dissatisfied with my Home Depot experience. May 6, 2015
