Autowinder II Bump Feed Trimmer Head is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design The Rhino Replacement trimmer head is poorly designed and basically useless. What should have been a 45 minute task wasted 3 hours. Due to the poor design of the bump head, any dirt or particles that get into and under the plate cause the bump head to lock up and prevent the line from feeding. The longest it continually functioned was for 20 -30 seconds before the line broke. I then had to remove the plate, unwind the line, reassemble and then rewind the line again. I will be returning this item for a full refund. I had a previous replacement head also from Rhino which was a different design and worked better than this "new" one. I was also using Rhino trim line so incompatibility was not the issue.

I assume it is because my Homelite spins backwards compared to others so bumping it does not advance the line. The machine must be shut down and manually advance more line. This may be a great design for other makes/ models but not mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Rhino It was a little hard to replace; however, once it was put in place, the string was very easy to load, and it dispenses the string flawlessly. It's a whole lot better than my old trimmer head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Epic Failure My last trimmer a Maruyama I bought at a pawn shop 20 years ago used, finally lost compression and died. Boy do I miss it. I bought a Craftsman last year that utilizes the 16" pieces of string. This was not economical for me, having to throw away 8-10" of string every change, so I bought this product. I will give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt first, thinking maybe they did not do any testing along the gulf coast on Saint Augustine grass. This is some tough grass. That being said, the biggest cons to the product are, 1) if the 2 pieces of string become different lengths it shakes and vibrates very bad, product can not handle the imbalance, my last trimmer of 20 years did just fine. 2) on the first run of loaded string I had my medium duty string break flush with the exit point on the head multiple times. What a pain to take apart and try to put back together with sweat dripping in your eyes because you're n the middle of doing yard work. Decided to take it off and return it. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a socket on the universal nut provided, as it only protruded from its recess about an 1/8" and it stripped. Had to take an angle grinder and start cutting away at the plastic to get it off. Probably a good replacement for a lower powered trimmer. Guess I got what I paid for, lesson learned. Heading to the local mower shop to buy what I should have bought the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Easy to Bump I kept going through heads because the bump buttons are always so small and wear down quickly. On previous heads, I'd have to tap 2-3 times to get anything to come out, especially as the head started to wear down. I've had this a few months and it looks to be a huge improvement. One light tap and the full length of string comes out. Also the bump button sticks out so far, I'm not scraping the rest of the head when I bump it. Instructions say does not work with electric trimmers, but it does great on my Ryobi 40v.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd times a charm After buying and looking for a new bump feed trimmer head this is the one. It's easy to install with multiple adapters. I measured off 20 ft of line and fed it with ease per the instructions. The only advice I can give is let the line get fairly short before bumping the head to feed more line.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor design Works well and rides higher above Ground. Theproblem is the black bump knob. It will fall off. I lost it but was lucky enough to find it later. I secured it with 2 small screws . You can not find a replacement bump for this. Would notrecommend this. Ryobi reel easy 2 is much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fit for old Echo revival I originally lost the bump head after installing a blade for thick brush. This one was ordered in hopes I could use it as before. It was easy to install and works better than the original.
