CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not much iof an improvement Bought one of these for my Homelite gas trimmer. The OEM spool was a complete exercise in frustration. The only thing this product did was make it easier and faster to replace string. But that is not saying much when the string snippets you just put in breaks off in the first 3 seconds after you replace it. The life is variable depending on how it is used, but in my suburban lawn, the trimming is lite; around a few trees, touch up along wood fence and flower bed trimming. I may go through 3 to 10 pairs of string in one outing and that's only for a couple of hundred feet of trimming at the most. The only thing I hate worse than this string head is the Homelite trimmer I use it on. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy To Install, Great Price, Line Is Weak. I have an older gas-powered Weed Eater. The head broke and I went to Home Depot to look for a replacement one. Not having an exact part, I purchased this item. It installed in five minutes. It works as advertised except that the line breaks easily whenever you hit a fencepost or other stationary object. It did work well with my old machine however and will add life to it before I need to replace it. I would suggest not buying the short replacement pieces but buying a whole roll of the stronger square type line and pre-cutting it to the lengths that you need. I bet it would cut even better and save money. For the money, this item provided a quick fix that actually worked better than my original trimming head. I would definitely recommend it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Very good so far I installed this on my B&D twin string electric trimmer and it fit perfectly with the shaft adapter that it came with. I did have to buy a longer bolt (.8mm x 30 mm) to accomodate the extra length of the adapter ($0.79 for a package of 2 on the hardware aisle) plus I had scrounge up an old washer because the head on the replacement bolt was smaller than on the stock bolt, but in less than 5 minutes I was up and running. I ran it for about 20 minutes without any problems and without changing the line. August 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful This product is the most amazing, time saving weed eater attachment I've ever found. No more wrestling with rewinding the string (which I could NEVER get right). I trimmed my whole yard in under 15 minutes. Worked like a charm, I've already told my friends about this since they love to make fun of me for messing up the processing of rewinding the string. Just love it! July 29, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 First Test - Great! I'm using a Poulan Pro curve shaft trimmer with 33cc engine. The original head broke and I tried a replacement but it didn't work. I read reviews of this product and decided that I'd give it a try. The installation was quick with no problems. I decided to use some .095 line instead of the .080 that comes with the head. I've used it for about an hour on some hardcore vines and brush and it seems to work great. No broken lines, nonstop cutting. July 31, 2013
