This is absolutely PERFECT . . . it illuminates a painting that hangs in our Foyer.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 2paint simple to install not the brightest light
I’m a little disappointed in the intensity of the light. The product description says it has 8 LED lights and it only has 4, two on each side.
I’ve bought the Rite Lite picture lights before and was somewhat satisfied but it would be nice if HD would be honest about how many LEDs were included in the lamp.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bobbyd38 Great Light to Highlight Artwork
I needed a Light to enhance a Van Gogh (copy) in my Living Room that I just finished decorating. I did not want any wires hanging and this fit the bill. It was easy to install with included hardware. build quality seems a little flimsy. I can't comment on battery life as I have not had it long enough, but overall very satisfied.

Did not cast light well on my painting (36" X 42"). It may work more satisfactorily if used with a smaller painting.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DGL77 LEDs not the best for artwork lighting
The battery operated LED Picture Light is not the best type of lighting for works of art. The pure white light of the LEDs and the harshness of the lighting does not bring out the texture and colors of oil on the paintings it lights. Intensity of the lamp is not sufficient and I understand that the battery life of such lamps is not good. However, battery operated lamps are convenient if one does not have an outlet nearby or the proper wiring for typical/standard picture lamps. For artwork, it is better to use a standard tungsten halogen lamp that will provide to right color temperature and brightness to bring out the texture and oil colors of the picture.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 2muchmusic Depends on how you want to use it!
Before purchasing this product, ask yourself a question: Do I want to highlight a piece of artwork for a few minutes a week when I am trying to impress my book club with my art collection, or do I want something that will add an accent light that will be on most of the time? If your answer is "book club," this will be fine for you! If your answer is that you want something on most of the time, this is basically USELESS. Three high quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries will not keep this thing going for a whole day, believe me, I have tried. It is also kind of cheaply made so will probably be a bit crooked. Do you want your book club to see that? Probably not.
That being said, picture lights are a RIP OFF in general. The choices are something like this or something just slightly more "engineered" that will run you $75 or higher. Ridiculous. Keep looking.
