Would you like to use your heater to keep your family warm in the middle of Winter? Would you like to adjust the temperature of your home to suit your comfort level? Well this little beauty says forget all that and just does whatever it wants! Cold? Too bad. Hot? Too bad. I now have to control my heater by turning off the gas and unplugging it when it gets too hot. As for the cold (abundant in January), I had to buy space heaters for each room! There should be a class action lawsuit against this company, this is absolute garbage.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DisgruntledCustomer Good while it lasted.... but didn't last long
I bought 3 of these for my home in the fall of 2009. As of 12/1/15 only 1 of the 3 work. It was great to be able to program 4 time slots for each day of the week and to set a temporary override, however, within 3 years started having problems with the touchpads. The temp would get stuck and wouldn't be able to change it without completely resetting the thermostat for all 7 days. Now can't change the days of the week, move time forward, and program in general.
This year they completely malfunctioned - in that could only set the time for Sundays and couldn't change time periods for heat to go on and off.
Unfortunately they're only good as paperweights now - and I'm having difficulty filling the holes in the wall that were needed to install these - as nothing else seems to fit.
Lousy customer service.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 8675309 looks good...but not reliable, no longevity
Like the other reviewers, I bought this thermostat because it was flush mounted and looked fantastic. It's actually worked fantastic and reliabily for 4 years, but now it's winter and the screen is not working so it can't be programmed. At first I thought it was because of the batteries dying, as the battery was flashing, but when I replaced them, it didn't fix the problem. I still couldn't access half of the features, so I couldn't program it. I came online to see if there was anything, but all I've found is common complaints so it's safe to say I'm going to replace it, which is ludicrous after only a few years.

Difficult to operate and program even if using the manual program. touchscreen temperamental or inoperable alternately. just wanted to add my comments. My advice is to go retro and get an old school manual adjustable thermostat. buy at your own risk I own 2 of these . To add insult to injury although it looks nice - to replace will leave a hole no other thermostat on earth will fit in a length wise 4.5" by 6" so there you have it.

Installed the thermostat and could not get my AC unit to come on. Called cust. service only to find out you can only contact them by e-mail. Sent e-mail requesting possible solution to problem. Received e-mail with answer that didn't fix problem nor did their connection solution match anything in the Install Guide.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NicholasG Excellent product
I have purchased many touch screen thermostats over the years and I have to say this model is my favorite. I can't overemphasize how flush this thermostat fits in the wall. It looks very expensive and high tech. The quality of the unit is top notch and more durable than other units I have purchased. Very easy to program and the back lighting is very easy on the eyes..I actually like the lighting better than the blue lighting the other manufacturer's use. I also like how you attach the wires..no wire stripping, just insert into post and tighten screw...One purchase you won't be sorry about!

Loved this tstat 3 yrs ago when I purchased it, very sleek look and mounts flush to the wall.A lot of people have asked if the thermostat came with the house. However as of right now my Rite temp tstat is out of calibration, its registering wrong temp readings forcing my AC to run without cutting off and does not turn on when its suppossed to. I have played around with the built in calibration feature to correct it but to no avail.I'm looking into getting a honeywell wifi controlled thermostat. I'm pretty sure that my little ones contributed to the down fall of the Rite Temp.

Landlord had installed this, programmable for 7 days, 24 hours. The unit room temperature is lower than the targeted display! Had to reset, blah, blah, blah. I had to go though every day & hour to rest then it went back to the same screen again and again and this is doing everything required with the directions, override and all, yes I can read. i live in Arizona, it gets friggin hot here, this thing is useless!!! Ready to put in a Honeywell basic round non-programmable unit because I don't need a complex unit that needs constant programming, it's useless. We spent 4 hours trying to get the stupid thing to cool, it's 100 degrees out and i'm ready to yank it off the wall!! Hello honeywell, goodbye ritetemp.
Do not buy this, you are wasting your money.
