Does it have a lid?

IS THERE AN ELECTRIC ATTACHMENT FOR THE Rotisserie

Asked by: SANDY2
What I used to help the rotisserie work better is needle nose channel locks. The first time using the rotisserie I was cooking a lemon pepper chicken and the rotisserie does not lock into position just freely swings. After getting annoyed I used some needle nose channel locks so I could clamp the rotisserie rod into place. Every few minutes I would then rotate it into a new position. It worked. I'm not going to pay $60. plus for an attachment when a $3.50 tool from Harbor Freight will do the job.

All of the parts were in the box and in good condition. Assembled it without assistance. I have yet to cook on it, so I offer these initial impressions. I like the swing out work surface. It would been better to have made it a bit larger, but it is nice to have. Not a fan of the swing hook.........yet. I'll just have to wait and see how it works . I could tell from looking at the rotisserie that it was going to be a light duty item hence the four star rating. I would only use it on rare occasions when I could get someone with nothing else better to do than turn the meat. Luckily, I have a heavy duty motor and spit that I can mount (with a bit of fabrication) that will work much better. For the most part assembly was easy, albeit slightly frustrating when it came to the outer ring. You really could use an extra set of hands, but temporarily attaching each end with a screw will hold it in place long enough to install one end and proceed to the next. Upon initial assembly, all of the ring portions didn't line up, they were slightly off. Looking at the alignment, I could see they were off by the depth of the attaching panels. I figured that if I disassembled the joint and reassembled by swapping the piece that was going to be on the outside it should line up. It worked perfectly. I agree with the suggestion to put grates in the bottom to prevent contact of the coals with grill bowl surface. I would further suggest wrapping bricks in foil, placing them in the bottom of the grill and then placing a grate on top of the bricks. I'll also be making an expanded steel "cage" to contain the coals. I like the suggestion of the metal tub turned upside down to cover the grill. When it's not in use as a cover, it can double as an ice chest for beer or whatever else you want to cool. Good cheap fix. A suggestion for those with the problem of leveling the grill. Push water soaked tooth picks through hot dogs or other similarly shaped items to keep them from rolling off. One last thing. The grill is a bit low. It's perfect for a fire pit, but as far as grilling, it leaves a bit to be desired. I know it's a range grill meant to be tended while riding spurs with your backside, but I prefer it to be higher. To that end, I'll be fabricating a cheap, sturdy and easily removable, mobile sub frame to raise it to a more suitable height. That's all for now. Soon I will have more to offer as far as cooking goes. I'll also try and attach some pics for the mods I'll be making.

Great as a fire pit, would have given 5 stars except the grill is just too thin. When heated it gets wavy which will not let the grilled item sit flat (uneven cooking surface.

But I am excited about this "grill and fire pit." While looking at the various grills on HomeDepot.com, I saw this and recalled my wife's words, "I want a fire pit in the yard!" That in itself is amazing, since my wife swears I don't even listen. We busted out the parts and put this baby together. Then we poured in the charcoal, soaked them in lighter fluid, threw in the match. Fast forward to some wonderful sirloin beef burgers, enjoyed by all. The only downside is this: The pit itself is bowl shaped, leaving the charcoal way below the grill/grid itself. The grill/grid only has two adjustments, both quite a distance above 5 lbs. of charcoal. But, as I said, the beef cooked and the burgers were great. I solved the issue. I found a round replacement grill at the local Home Depot, designed for a Weber grill. I have placed that grill inside the pit, which will raise the charcoal about 4 inches AND allow air to flow underneath the coals to enhance the cooking efficiency. Haven't really used it as a fire pit yet, but we will. Just be aware that some adaptation may be needed for effective cooking! All in all, this was a great value!

We have only used it once. We will be trying chicken with the rotisserie this coming weekend. We got the real hardwood charcoal and the coals were still hot the next afternoon when we went to shovel them out and put on the cover. Very impressed! Easy to set up and to do the initial prep before using it. We are looking forward to a lot of years of grilling.

Two things I don't like: 1. There are hole on the tops of the legs for the poles to side it but they are capped on the bottom which will allow water to sit in the legs if left out. (its a pit so i"m leaving it outside) I'll probably add some weep holes. 2. Who's going to hand turn that spit for an hour or more? Set it up for an optional motorized rotisserie

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RiverGrille Cowboy Excellent product; perfect grilling options!! We are very hapy with this product. We've been searching for such a product for several years now. This grill can be used as a fire pit or grill or for many other things. The diameter and wire height is perfect. Grilling with oak charcoal gives an amazing flavor to meat. I will never cook on a gas grill again.

It is heavier then I expected. We have used it many times and have really enjoyed it. The rotisserie spit should be a bit longer, works nicely for chickens. Everyone that has come for a BBQ has been impressed with how well it cooks and all of the features.
