Very satisfied with this grill, heavy duty and ample grilling/smoking surface. Smoke box is big enough to do the job, just smoked three large briskest with no problem. Definitely would recommend two people for assembly, however one person can do it if need be. Look forward to many years of grilling/smoking with this product.

Super heavy! I highly recommend a helper to get it assembled. Have tools handy and don't use the included tools if you want to finish fast. It is large and sturdy. I wouldn't say it was worth the original price of $800, but at $5XX it is not bad at all. It has some minor leaks, but i wouldn't expect super tight seals from a mass produced box. Overall i like it, huge cooking space, two level, and then above the firebox. My biggest complaint, the grease can is kind of small.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tony Good quality, but not great.
The Rancher's grill's size and design is great, however the door's contours do not sit flush with the cooking chamber. They have bracing welded along the inside, so any attempts to reshaping them would require removing them and welding them back afterwards. I've seen gaskets used along the edges of the doors on grills online and I am thinking of trying them to see if they correct the problem before doing any modifications to the grill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buddy Nice good looking grill
This is a good looking plus good cooking grill and customer service and support are top of the line, I had a little problem with my grill, but the company took care of it right away. This is not a super duper heavy grill, but it's heavy enough to cook well, the fire box holds heat very well, I closed my firebox dampener at 8;00 pm. the next morning at 9;30 am. I went out to clean the firebox and found that there were still hot coals in the box. The grill has really big steel wheels on it and it's perfectly balanced which makes it very easy to move around .

My grill was assembled at home depot, When I used it as a smoker it loses a lot of smoke and heat from the lids, There was a 30-40 degree difference from the first door to the second, How can I seal this or is this just a poor product, Instead of just smoking the meat I had to rotate the meat every hour or so , because their was very little heat to the second door area. Can this be fixed

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buddy Really nice grill--smoker
This is a real nice grill, it is constructed out of 5/32" steel and cooks and holds it's heat well. The grill is very well balanced which makes it very, very easy to move around, the cooking chamber has upper and lower cooking grates and is about 42" long by 20" diameter with side by side doors so you can open the front or rear of the cooking chamber. The firebox is very well made and is also constructed of 5/32" steel, it also has cooking grates for over the coals or wood grilling, I really like everything about my Rancher grill, customer service is top of the line in case you have a problem, the smoker weighs in at about 355 lbs. but as I said earlier it is very easy to move around because of the balance and very large wheels, if you're looking for a real nice looking and good cooking grill, this fits the bill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PJeff This one competes with the custom builders.
I did a lot of shopping around before I bought this smoker. The models I wanted cost about $1500-$2200 from the custom builders. I just relocated back to Houston and just didn't want to spend that kind on money. Not that this is cheap, but it isn't $2000! This smoker is the heaviest one I found from a retailer. The steel is about 4 times as thick as the other brands I looked at. It is also bigger and has more cook space that the other models you can buy retail. My father and I assembled it this past weekend. I would recommend having two people when you put it together. It can be done with one person, but I would recommend two. I added high heat, food safe silicon between all the joints I had to put together, i.e. between the smoker box and main chamber, smoke stack and main chamber, all the screw holes, around the temperature gauges, etc. I also added high heat gasket material around all the doors. It's is pretty airtight now. I fired it up to season it yesterday and it only leaked smoke from a couple of places that I will seal next weekend. When I lit it up, it got up to temp really quickly. I was impressed by how long it stayed at temp from one load of charcoal. I use mostly hardwood that burns hot, so I am sure it will hold a lot of heat for a long time. The firebox is nice and big too, that's a plus. I am going to add some tuning plates in next weekend too. Like most offset smokers, the side next to the firebox is much hotter than the far end. But that can be fixed fairly easily. Overall I am very pleased with the smoker. I like it much better than the Brinkmanns or Oklahoma Joe models. Even though it's made overseas, I am happy with it. I hope this helps.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dmeyer1962 Overall Good Grill
This grill was the easy to put together. It does require two people because of the weight. It is the first grill that I have found in this price range made out of heavy steel. This is not your cheap grill. Very well made. Sturdy! It does have some leaks around the lids but a little sealer and all gone. So far I love it. I would tell everyone this is the grill you need at your house. Nice job RiverGrille!
