The cushion underlayment was easy to lay and to attached the next strip which had the sticking overlap. All together it was a pretty fast job before we laid the flooring down. It is hard to estimate the insulation factor, but so far we are very satisfied with this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cody Worked great! Beautiful, silent bamboo floors as a result.
Cutting and placing this felt was very easy. The underlayment was nice and even and very easy to install (especially compared to removing and replacing sub-floor). We did click-lock bamboo over top and you cant hear it at all with this stuff underneath, worked like a charm. Adhering one section to the next was quick and easy. Overall no complaints.

I purchased this online only underlayment for my half inch solid bamboo floating floor.
The product cuts easily enough with a good pair of scissors. Lays down flat and the overlapping flap works well. The product works well at dampening floor noise and adsorbing shock from the treadmill. The free shipping to the house was fast and an added bonus.

I'm a retired General contractor. I've installed quite a number of flooring products. Through research, inquires others have used and simple trial and error.
With the concern of a product to perform its absolute design function, ease of installation and at a feasible cost. I have tried every type of installation from nothing to terrible overpriced/rated wonder underlayments.
I have found this plastic covered, recycled fabric offers the best and most benefits per square foot cost.
It lays down easy enough, even sticks to the next run. Doesn't buckle or distort when the flooring is applied. It offers a good moisture and dense sound barrier. Creates a softer and quiet feel on the finished flooring. When cut and placed, there is no waste.
The only problem I can think of is that it is hard to cut. I used a very sharp razor knife, scissors and shears. But the end product if well worth such a slight extra effort.
(not sure why I rated 'appearance' Excellent, it is unseen when the job is done. But, it did look good going down and no unpleasant odor.)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mountainman Good product, BUT
Home Depot delivered the product ahead of schedule...no problems.
Installed several rolls of this product with no head joint, without problem. Some of the flanges that overlap from roll to roll were very thin, and would separate. Not a huge deal, duct tape fixed that.
THEN, we unrolled one roll, and someone at the factory (presumably) had taped a section onto the end, crooked as can be (to create a full roll, i assume). Had to cut that section off and throw it away.
We unrolled another roll to create a head joint where that roll had to be cut, and the rolls were 1 1/2" different in width. Unrolled another roll, and the flange was very different. We ended up just scotching the pieces together best we could. Vapor barrier was consistent, thickness of material was consistent, but the roll width was not. Quality control...lacking. Otherwise would have been very happy with the product.

We used this for two kids bedrooms, this stuff was so easy to use because of the adhesive... I also like that as you used it and glued it together it made it quite water resistant

We put this underlayment on a concrete slab flooring, covering asbestos tile we discovered (was told by several professionals that its best just to lay new flooring on top of as long they are in good condition) to go underneath our new Home Legend Clickloc Engineered wood floating floor. My father helped us install the floor. He's a true jack-of-all-trades sort of guy. We decided on the felt after hearing from several people that installing plastic type underlayment can make a sort of crinkling noise sometimes, especially under wood flooring. It went down really smoothly. Be warned that the sticky strip is VERY sticky. You cannot pull up and re-stick. I found it best to have the two pieces lined up perfectly and then go slowly to pull and stick a little at a time. Also, cutting it was difficult. As many pointed out, a knife doesn't really work. I used my good "fabric" scissors. Was not easy. Could hear my father cursing the underlayment a bit when working with the door jambs when you needed to be more precise with the cuts. However, extremely happy with the product. It was worth ordering online.
