Answer:
It has adhesive along one edge (I don't recall if it is the 12' or 10' edge). Just remember that you are buying a 12' x 10' sheet and not a roll like most other underlayment options so you aren't going to have a lot of seams. This may sound like a good thing but it also means you'll be working with a much larger piece of material and may be troublesome if your room is not similarly shaped.

Answer:
It does have adhesive at seams allowing for overlap of material. I would recommend using tape to make a good seal anyway. Built in adhesive, in my opinion, isn't sufficient seal but helps hold in place before taping.

Does this product act as both a moisture and vapor barrier? I am having an allure vinyl floor installed in my basement, and would like to install a moisture & vapor barrier between the concrete & flooring to keep moisture off the tiles and to prevent the mold/mildew smell from permeating through the tiles. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer:
As long as there is a bit of overlaying between the pieces and they are propery glued then this should keep both moisture and vapor in control.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very mixed review on flooring I ordered 900 sq ft of Pergo flooring and 240' of base shoe trim. I specified that the trim be nice and straight and not all scarred up and was assured it would be so. When the delivery was made, I was very disappointed with the products. The Pergo comes in boxes without a cardboard bottom so the built-on padding on the bottom piece is exposed. Well, on many boxes, it was all torn up. The base shoe appeared randomly selected. Many pieces were scarred and defective. Had to return all the base shoe. Apparently, when the HD warehouse guys pull an order, no attention is given to the integrity of the product. It's all about "hurry up and get it done". This is not good customer service. September 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good thickness and easy to work with. October 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I suppose it matters what you use this for but I used it as an underlayment for a river rock bed in landscaping to keep grass from growing through the rocks, not its intended purpose but it does the job very nicely. October 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HOME PROJECT Installer done with my flooring within 2 hrs! Extremely pleased!!! September 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handy Comes with an adhesive strip that holds one end in place while laying out the remainder. Thick enough to walk on without incident. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Underlay film It did what it was supposed to do, and the installers used it effectively. August 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product only if you have good installers The product works very well as a moisture barrier at a good price, but all the folds make it difficult to install. We purchased this underlayment at HD with our engineered hardwood, which we installed in our living room over concrete. However, we used Home Depot services to install the floor and their rushed (and mistreated) subcontractors had trouble installing the floating floor over the folds from the underlayment. We wanted to have them do it over, and did not sign that we approved the install, but they left and we filed claim after claim but never got a repair from HD. We were left with several "crinkly" spots in the floor - every time I walked on those areas, I felt a slight give and the crunch of the plastic underfoot. Who wants a wood floor to feel like walking on plastic? Yuck. Note that we also had the floor completely leveled before the install. I lived with the soft spots for a year and they never settled. This week our house flooded and we had to remove all the flooring. I confirmed that the underlaymnet was installed with wrinkles in the "bad" areas. However, even in where there was still standing water underneath the floor, not a drop got past the barrier and the concrete was dry everywhere but the corners of the room. So the water barrier definitely works even in extreme cases. I am now looking to buy all new materials for the reconstruction - I can't decide if I want to buy this product again or not because of the difficulties of the install had by the "professionals". I really really don't want to get crinkly floors again. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Durable & Gets the Job Done I used it under my laminate floor installation. It was easy to work with, great value! July 23, 2016
