Despite the fact it is claimed to work in any surface, including carpet, tape didn't stick to the back of runner allowing it to slip away from desired area.

This anti-slip tape is easy to apply to my throw rugs and is far superior to other anti-slip tape I have used; it actually works.

cleaned the floor, wiped the back of rug as best as you can. Unrolled the tape, a tan sticky mesh. Cut the length I needed and applied the exposed sticky side on rug. ..It didn't stick so you can't pull the backing off the tape to expose the other sticky side. I then tried to peel both side and tried to stick one side, no go.
Ok mo problem, I stuck it to the flkoor first and that worked a little better but I still could not pull the backing off yo expose the other side. I finally manipulated it so I had bothe sides peeled with it stuck to the floor. I laid the carpet over the tape, stepped on it to press it down and it seemed to work. Within 10 minutes it separated. As long as you walked on the part of the rug with tape underneath, it didn't slide. but if you just walked over it normally, it didn't stick anymore. within a day, the tape on the floor picked up dirt and pet hair. I recall the original rug tale being a solid, sticky, gooey double sided tape, REAL TAPE. This mesh doesn't have enough area on it to firmly stick to the rug, remember the back of the rug is a cloth mesh too. Mesh on mesh doesn't cover enough area, seems fine on a floor, but not an area rug.
