Thank you for your inquiry.
No, our Roberts 2001 can not be used with peel and stick tiles as the adhesives are of different compositions. Our Roberts 2057 has been used in a roll on type application ( medium nap roller, let completely dry, apply tile) with great success but is not recommended or warranted by Roberts.

Stoph here. In as much as I appreciate Home Depot's answer and timely response, their answer was the general standard. What I needed was a more definitive answer to my "rest" before laying sheet vinyl flooring question. In the past, I have read that applied floor adhesives require time to "set" (rest) before laying flooring, to improve adhesion. Home Depot's answer mirrored the instructions on the Roberts 2001 container, stating to apply vinyl while adhesive is 'fresh', with no mention of 'set time'. So, I called Roberts direct and talked to the head of their tech dept. Recommendation was to let applied Roberts 2001 to "set" for 5-10 minutes before laying flooring. This allows the adhesive to partially 'evaporate' liquid components, increasing the tackiness (holding power) of the adhesive and
improving adhesion.

Hello Stoph and thanks for your interest in Roberts 2001 1-qt. Felt-Back Sheet Vinyl Glue Adhesive, Superior Grade.
As per our installation instructions: Spread adhesive uniformly. Adhesive
ridges should be of sufficient height to achieve full coverage of the
substrate and the back of the flooring material.
Place flooring into the adhesive while the adhesive is still fresh. The
amount of time in which you have time to place the flooring will vary
with temperature and humidity. The higher the temperature and the
lower the humidity the faster the adhesive will set.
Lift a corner periodically to see if the adhesive is transferring 100% to
the back of the flooring. If the adhesive is not transferring to the
backing; remove adhesive and reapply.
After Installation – Restrict foot traffic
and moving of heavy objects for 24 to
48 hours to allow adhesive to cure
properly. Premature traffic can cause
installation failure.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Superior product I was very happy with the product. It was very warm when I used it and it was a slower dry time.so gave me time to work with it. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vinyl flooring adhesive worked perfectly This adhesive was easy to spread and has held the floor in place beautifully even though we have moved a washer and dryer around on it. Only complaint was that there wasn't a smaller size. We have a ton left over. December 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by glue for rubber base It seems to be holding very well but a little of this goes a very long way. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does its job Vinyl glue is messy. It's tricky to spread evenly. It takes some time to dry. If you want to do a large job, it might help to practice on a small area first. But this glue did what it claimed, for a first-timer the directions were clear enough and I didn't get it all over myself (just all over my hands, trying to work it into corners with the wrong trowel). The smell was quite tolerable even in a small location although you do want access to fresh air when working with any adhesive product. I did use this in a small outbuilding, uninsulated, so I am interested to see how it holds up over a few winters. Overall, satisfied with it so far. August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product The glue adhesive worked great. The wall tiles are still in place in the shower and tub area. They look great. Aplication went on with ease. August 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glue Worked well, easy to apply. Easy cleanup. Would use again. May 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works good Messy and sticky. But I guess that's the point of glue. Allowed me to glue new linoleum over old with no issues. Works good. September 16, 2014
