Answer:
Hi Sammy, the product you're asking about is not for vinyl flooring. It's for carpet.
Take a look at Roberts model 2001, it's for felt backed vinyl flooring and can be used on concrete. HD SKU #696-397.

The trowel notches referenced are those typically recommended for the type of flooring being
installed. They are normally the minimum size recommended. Surface conditions (roughness and
porosity of substrate), type of flooring and backing will ultimately determine the required trowel
notch size and coverage.
Flooring manufacturer’s products differ in characteristics and textures. Always check with the
specific flooring manufacturer’s recommendations for their specific trowel requirements. Less
porous substrates typically require a smaller notched trowel and longer open time than porous
substrates. Ensure 100% transfer of adhesive to the substrate and the flooring backing.

Pat-
Yes, for the 2077 Superior Grade Pressure Sensitive Carpet Tile Adhesive, and all adhesives you must remove the old adhesive or glue and have a clean substrate to lay the new adhesive or glue. I hope this helps, should you have any further questions please contact our Roberts Customer Service at (866) 435-8665. Thank you for choosing Roberts!

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It was easy to apply, however, was expecting that it would be a lot more tackier. Glue was easy to apply, but not all that tackey. Have used other product that was very tackey after it had dried properly. Just wanted to try a different product. Not saying that it may not work as well, but will not know that unless I get called back, by my customer, saying that the carpet is not staying put. Has been two weeks since the carpet was applied. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Product, Easy to Use Like this pressure sensitive adhesive for carpet tile. Ran out of carpet tile, then installed 2 weeks later when the new order came in, still worked really well for adherence. Smell is not bad and only brief while drying. Coverage is super easy, changes color when ready, so easy for novices or pros. Only issue is we had a troublesome area that we had to change tiles a few times and the adhesive lost its tackiness, so had to place more, wait for an hour, then finish the job in that small area. So probably good for 2 placements, anymore loses adhesion. So have a plan before using was the lesson we learned. Very minimal carpet tile lift after install, better than expected. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Product Used this glue to glue down carpet tiles in a basement on cement. Used a roller method to apply then put the tiles down. Worked great! No problems with readjusting tiles. Waited 48hrs to put anything on the tiles. Clean up was easy. Hot water and soap on everything. Highly recommend this product again. I have more to carpet and plan to buy more! December 10, 2013
