Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve Underlayment very easy to install
My wife and I used this underlayment when we installed engineered wood flooring in two bedrooms. It is extremely easy to use, but plan and think ahead - take care with sharp or heavy tools to avoid snagging the plastic vapor barrier, tread carefully on it, and make sure that you have pieces lined up before you stick the attached edging onto the adjacent sheet. I would definitely order this again. If you're unsure, a suggestion is to find the installation instructions online and read through them so that you will know what's involved before you purchase it. [Caution: We have never used any other similar product, so we're unable to compare.]

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kreativeone Arrived in very poor condition but usable
Rolled material was delivered in extremely poor condition with the light plastic covering torn open in several places and open to the rainy weather. Portions were wet but fortunately laying it out overnight inside allowed it to dry without damage or musty smell. Very disappointed with the poor packaging. Delivery time was outstanding. I haven't laid the material down as yet (still painting and preparing) but material seems to be exactly what I needed; sound absorbing and cushioned underlayment.
First time I've been disappointed in any online order from Home Depot.

This product was as good as any other felt underlayment I have used, but the price was much better.

I bought this underlay for a large family room area (~500 sq.ft., 1st floor, full basement below) for a new hardwood floor, replacing carpet. What I was looking for:
- Excellent sound absorbing ability
- Above average customer ratings
- Cost competitive
I didn't want to consider a thick cork solution - one of the best options reported - and use of multiple layers of underlay is discouraged. This material is roughly equal to standard cork underlay and less expensive. It's been easy to work with in 100 sq.ft rolls - 360 sq.ft. rolls were even more cost effective and not difficult to wrangle.
The material is like a dense blanket once down and felt very stable. I used a good scissors to cut, which was much faster and easier than a blade.

We purchased this underlayment for use under our new Home Legend engineered hardwood. This worked great as an underlayment as well as a bit of a sound muffler. This rolled out perfect, we used heavy duty scissors to cut. Purchasing in the large rolls save time and money since it was delivered right to our door. Even after rolling it out you could feel a warmth to the room. The other day there was a rain storm and our sump pump will go off in the basement. I said to my husband is the sump pump working. He started to go down stairs to check and it went off. The underlayment has made a nice sound muffler because prior to the new flooring we could always hear the sump pump. Just a nice added bonus.

What a difference the underpayment has made. The sound in the room where installed is 100 times deadened. Will definitely use this in the rest of the home

Happy with the purchase. Easy to work with. I would recommend this to others. Thanks.
The first picture shows the underlayment with the tile nearing the back wall.
The second displays the covered tape strip prior to installing the next run of underlayment.
The last picture shows the flexibility and ease of laying and cutting the underlayment to fit corners and around obstacles.
