Thank you for your inquiry. A few common things to look for that may help explain what's going on. Materials and area temperature must be between 65–95°F with a maximum RH of 65% for 48 hours before and during installation. The amount of time in which the adhesive becomes tacky will vary with temperature and humidity. The higher the temperature and the lower the humidity the faster the adhesive will tack.Large temperature or humidity increases or decreases can affect the flooring and performance of the installation.Ensure adequate ventilation during flooring installation. Make sure the moisture and pH of the substrate are within tolerance - Moisture Vapor Emissions: 8 lbs. or less (ASTM F1869) /85% or less (ASTM F2170) pH of the substrate must not exceed 10. when installing over a non porous substrate such as existing vinyl or clogged pores of existing concrete, the tacking process of the adhesive will be extended as well. Trowel size for porous substrate is 1/16 in. x 1/16 in. x 3/32" trowel size for non porous substrate is 1/16 in. x 1/32 in. x 1/32" R2057 has a working time of 12-24 hours meaning once the adhesive reaches full tack, you have 12-24 hours to utilize the adhesive field. (protect the adhesive field from contaminates) For more information, please contact technical services at 866-435-8665. Thank you for using Roberts adhesives. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2057 tile adhesive We applied this product to plywood with the recommend tools at 6 pm. At 10 pm it was still not dry. At this rate it will take weeks to finish a floor only 6' x 6'. Plus in order to remove this product and start over you need to use mineral spirits and warm water which adds fumes and may warp the plywood!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by smelly product Laid a 4x4 stairwell landing. I read the reviews so I went extremely thin with the coat. It dried to a clear color in about an hour and a half with fan on it. The tile laid down easily and did not shift. The grab seemed pretty good. almost a month later and the adhesive odor is offensively strong in the stairwell. Nothig is oozing out and I pulled a tile up and it is dry underneath but still a little tacky. How long will it take for the chemical odor to go away or will I need to rip it all up? I'm glad I only laid this small area as a test. August 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vct glue This glue works well to install VCT. You MUST let this and every other VCT adhesive dry completely before you lay the first tile!! Snap your lines, spread the whole floor, go to lunch, stop home and grab the mail, run to the dmv, pickup something for dinner, then.....start setting the floor. Roll the floor out with 100lb roller and enjoy the new floor. August 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it supposed to do. Product preforms well. Applies easily, direction are accurate. Leaves a few air bubbles. March 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2 weeks later still wet Followed the directions to the letter and the adhesive is still wet after 2 weeks was very soupy and was not the easiest to apply with a trou. First time using this product and last. In 10 yrs of laying floor never used tgis poor of a product. March 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dont use if in hurry this stuff is still oozing 2weeks after tile was layed May 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pro, been in business for 30+ years. sounds to me like some of these people did not read and follow directions. Don't be in a hurry must let glue dry to where it changes color it gets almost transparent before laying tile. have used this many times and have never had a problem. March 17, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Use only in large comercial jobs. The slightest extra glue application will keep this glue from drying. Glue will squeeze out even a week later. This is not a adhesive for small projects. A fan for 4 hours will not set this glue up. Tiles will shift. June 12, 2014
