I purchased three cans of this very expensive adhesive and the first can I opened had about an inch of hardened glue. I had to use a knife to cut away that layer. This product also expands while exposed to the air so you have to work it quickly and I mean work it. At first it was fairly easy to spread, but the longer the can was open, the harder it became. Another problem with the expanding is after your flooring has been put down and you are several row ahead, you can look back and see it coming up between the boards. What a pain! BTW- make sure you purchase the wipes because if you do not, you will regret it!

The bucket that the adhesive comes in once opened cannot be resealed for the next days use. I found that if you place plastic garbage bags in the bucket pressed up against and touching the glue it helps keep the glue from setting. The plastic bag is easily removed and leaving the glue with a thin layer of dried glue that can be removed with a razor knife.

Worse glue ever. We wanted to safe money & did not get the $185 bamboo glue from Lumber Liquidator (maybe it would had been better? I do not know. But their glue had less coverage & we would had to get more buckets). Instead I got the Roberts $149 bucket (still a lot off money. Why is it so expensive?). Big mistake! It does stick like crazy, & these floors will stay on till the end off the world, but just a little too much, the stuff sips through the joints like crazy (it expense) We cleaned off glue right away with Mineral spirit & covered up the wood, but most spots popped up again later & glue kept popping up between the joints. Mineral Spirit works when the glue is fresh, but wait a few minutes & it do not work anymore.
This glue only comes in the 4 gallon bucket, & u have to work fast, or it will try up on u.
Our floors looked terrible, nothing would take off the glue smudges. I thought the glue burned itself into the stain. Thanks to Google & people posting their tips, I am getting the glue off with the Magic Erasers, Goo Gone & tons of elbow grease. Someone said the W40 will work too, have not tried that yet, but be prepared for lots of clean up work. I gave it a 3 stars because I do think that this glue will keep the wood floor in place till end of times, & I guess that what a decent glue suppose to do.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by jwjoybug Best when used all at the same time.
The product is extremely difficult to open, requires a great amount of prying and strength. If it sits, with a cover, will glaze over within 20 minutes. This glaze then will require removal or will make clumps in the remaining product. Smell is minimal, adhesion is good. Not a product for anyone who is planning on doing their own work over a span of time.

I used this for 3/4" solid oak parquet flooring. It is syrupy and thus troweling the product takes a little getting used to. I didn't have to do too big of an area to do but you will need to take breaks from troweling if you do a big area to give your wrist a break. Have everything close by in the work area, and work in an organized manner, and you can minimize any mess from glue getting on things. It dried in about 18 hours, but that drying time depends on temperature and humidity. I was in a warm dry location. Good product.
