Cork is more expensive but I have noticed a temperature and sound conduction improvement even though it was installed in my house under porcelain tile which tends to be cold and hard. If you're not putting it down over a concrete slab you might be able to do without the padding, especially if you don't intend to live a long time in the house. Cork also is water resistant and repels bugs like cedar. Our concrete slab increased the winter cold in our concrete block house. I'm hoping cork will reduce heating costs in the future. I have heard other people complain that laminate without padding makes for a noisy floor. Adhesive might prevent that but not allow for the typical "give" of a wood floor. Read Less

Hey there reyes,
I believe there may be a bit of confusion on the installation process here. This particular product is designed for cork underlayment, not for laminate floors.

Your laminate floor does not require any glue to be set atop your subflooring, nor does your foam padding require it. You'll roll out your foam padding a top your subflooring, and then lay the laminate and click-lock it into place. The laminate will then float a top it as a floating floor, meaning no gluing. Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. R7250 is not considered water proof. You may want to consider a contact cement that will become more resistant to moisture as it cures. If you have any further questions, contact technical services at 866-435-8665.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised, coverage is pretty accurate Not too many adhesive options for cork underlayment. This product is a bit soupy transferring from bucket to floor, but once on the subfloor surface it spreads very easily with a trowel. Coverage is almost to the square foot so little need to overbuy. Cleanup is with water but it can be a bit messy... so wear gloves! February 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cork Underlayment Adhesive This was my first experience with this product so there is nothing to compare it to. It arrived on time with the cork tile underlayment. I hired someone to do the work. It appeared to be easy to work with and troweled smoothly. There were no harsh fumes and it cleaned up off the tools easily. More than likely, it will adhere well over time. He chipped out one tile and the cork remained smoothly adhered. My only complaint was that the amount of coverage listed on HD's site was incorrectly listed. This required us to halt the job and re-order. There was a smaller extent of coverage listed on the container and we ended up over ordering the second time. So I took one star off for the aggravation of the wait and the need to return the excess. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cork to Concrete Slab Worked Like a Charm! If you need a product to adhere cork to concrete this is for you. Read the directions and prepare the work area. Then read the directions again, this stuff gets sticky... I used sheets of cork to avoid the warping associated with rolled cork and used 2X4's to hold in in place to give the glue a chance to dry. Again, read the directions. 24 hours later the only way the cork is coming off is with a chisel. April 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't actually hold the cork boards on the wall. We had to nail the corners and top edges down. The glue was not strong enough. April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 7250 4 Gal. Cork Underlayment Adhesive We used this adhesive to bond 1/4" cork to 4' X 8' pieces of OSB to use as a wall covering... Worked great Slow to dry... And needed to place weight on cork to get steady bond while it dried ( no problem). Once up & dried it seems to work as expected April 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It Works The product works as stated. There is a strong odor so you may want a small fan on when you use this. If you get it on things that you didn't intend to you better get it off right away or it is VERY hard to clean off. April 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product for those with allergies we chose this product due no VOC's and no odor once dry. the installer said it was easy to use and it worked as advertised. would definitely use again. February 12, 2013
