Thank you for your inquiry.
No. We do not recommend using our adhesive for your application. Suitable sub floors are Concrete, APA rated marine grade plywood, aged asphalt paving (hot applied), fiberglass and aluminum when surface is clean and roughened to promote bonding.

I have a dog dock that is made from 2x6 boards. Glued to the boards is Beaulieu Mainstream - Color Ivy 6 ft. Carpet. I used the 6700 as suggested by the HD rep. After 2 years it has come unglued and the backing on the carpet has fallen apart. Without the backing on the carpet, can I re-glue over the old glue?

The carpet, if not already, must be rated for outdoor use. I would suggest not gluing over the existing if possible. Thank you for your inquiry.
Without the carpet backing in place the adhesive will most likely bleed through to the surface making a mess.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good glue. It needs more instructions on applying. Once carpet is set in it, it's hard to move the carpet. This glue sticks veer well. It takes a while to dry in cool conditions. Inside the fumes persist for several weeks. We put it in a sun room in the winter and kept the door into the house closed for 2 months. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Basement carpet tile installation I used this adhesive to put down over 1200 sq. ft. of 18"x18" rubber-backed carpet tiles directly on my concrete basement floor. It worked very well. Each 4 gal. bucket covered about 400 sq.ft. so plan accordingly. Any accidental glue spills or drops can be cleaned up with a wet rag. After the glue cured, I had to fix a tile that wasn't cut correctly and had to use a prybar to get the tile up! I can't vouch for it getting soaking wet, but I did use hot water and a shop-vac to clean a 5'x5' area with no problems. May 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best available product for my job I used this product to glue 300 linear feet of outdoor turf/carpet seams together. I was very concerned that this was the best product for the job so I purchased a small amount of this product and a small amount of a similar product from Lowes and glued a few test pieces. After 2 months the test pieces using the product from Lowes came apart, but this product from Home Depot held up great. I suggest wearing disposable gloves when working with this product. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked very well I was caught in a bind on a commercial floor on Sunday and was able to pick up this adhesive at Home Depot. We used it on a unitary back carpet and it held very well ended up saving us a day so we didn't have to keep a job going into Monday. Interesting note one of my coworkers try to buy commercial carpet Adhesive at Home Depot's main competitor and that competitor no longer carries any commercial carpet adhesive of of any quantity in our area anymore. Home Depot is our first choice for flooring. September 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by you'll be sorry Use this product on mini golf course for carpet. still hasn't cured. got rained on and the whole carpet turned white............. September 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tough stuff. I used this stuff to adhere astro turf to a pontoon boat. I was worried about how waterproof it is. Time will tell, but I'll tell you this much, I got some of this goop on my arms by accident and it took two weeks of daily showering and scrubbing to wash off. June 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by carpet adhesive We uses it to glue carpet to the plywood for our outdoor living space. The product went on smoothly and dryer quickly according to posted instructions. June 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not an outdoor adhesive This stuff may work if you use it on a covered porch but that's it. I applied this stuff to my boat to hold the carpet down. The carpet cured for 3 dats at around 75 degrees and then 4 more days at around 50-55 degrees. I tried grabbing an edge that was slightly in the way and the bond was strong enough to pull the fibers out of the carpet. Good right? Wrong...if you put water on the carpet and wait 5 minutes, the carpet will peel up like it was held down with pudding. This stuff does not repel water and cannot get wet. March 25, 2013
