If it's still not available you can find other places online that sell it. I just received mine and love it! Feels like we just had new carpet installed.

These are fairly new and mine was a trial. I would assume I received these from the first batch and, as good as they work I am sure they will be back in stock soon.

check with your local store manager and ask them to restock or order one for you. Our local store is very helpful that way when we need something that's not in stock, and it ususally comes in just a few days.

Thank-you for asking that...I came here to do the same thing! Been checking regularly online for quite awhile. Also, nowhere to be found at the stores within a hundred miles of here. Hopefully they'll arrive soon. It would be nice if we could pre-pay for an order Home Depot!

Am looking for a tool that will pick up dog hairs. Will this rug rake clean a carpet of shedding hairs?

When I pet my dog, lots of hair comes out of her body. She is a very large dog (over 100 lbs.) and every time I pet her, large bulks of hair comes out and I was hoping this carpet groomer (rug rake) will pick up lots of hair rather than using my fingers.

I do not have a pet, but when I used the rug rake on my carpet it picked up whatever was on top of the carpet and raised the nap. I think it could be good for your use. Give it a try.

Hi Abby! Yes, I never posted pictures but many reviewers did. It works great! It even unsettled old grains of sand from a carpet that I had just vacuumed. You have to get used to working with it though so be patient, use short strokes, just like raking leaves. I was amazed at how well it worked - it worked better than expected.

I have dogs too, but they don't shed heavily. However, this rake helps pulls the hair that has settled into the fibers up to the surface. It's a great pre-vacuum step to take. I recommend you give it a try. I couldn't believe all the little particles it pulled up in addition to giving that "like new" appearance over just the vacuum alone.

Answer:
Hi abbyd1207 - in my opinion, the carpet rake is best for refreshing and standing up worn carpet pile. While it would likely help to rake out any long dog hair, that's not its primary function. Since it's not specifically designed to do that, it won't be a 100% solution to your problem. Hope this helps.

While it is just for grooming carpet and works well for that purpose, I have noticed it does clean up most of my Maine coons fur that sheds. So to answer your question, YES...it will do just that but will not get all of it. However, it does make it more simple to vacuum afterwards. Hope that helps :-)

I have to say no. I tried to take the head off to put on a shorter handle for doing carpeted stairs. My hope is that one day the manufacturer will make a smaller hand held version for smaller tighter spaces.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Buy Product needed better discription of the finger at the head of the Carpet Groomer (Hard Plastic), Nothing wrong with this it works well just not what I expected form the stock photo. The more you use it you will find different ways to make it work for you. Works well on area rugs too. May 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The vacuum bag is not full anymore! This is Chewbacca (named after the hairy one on Star Wars) who sheds constantly. Chewy makes a hairy mess on the carpet. This carpet rake pulls up the hairy shedding in the carpet which can be put in a grocery bag and disposed of. After picture is only after using the carpet rake and before the vacuum. It also lifts the nap of the carpet making it easier to vacuum up the ground in dirt. October 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Pet Hair We have a shephard/chow mix and higher pile carpet...bad combination. Just as we were considering a $300 vacuum cleaner for pet hair, we stumbled across this as an option. We rake the carpet before vacuuming and even after if you want your carpet to have a just-cleaned look for guests. Does not require a great deal of elbow grease. As easy as sweeping. Hope the pics are good. March 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works, I like it, only one complaint The groomer works fine on high-traffic areas of my apartment's plush carpet. It loosens matting, brings embedded dirt to the surface, makes vacuuming efficient and the carpet looks nice afterward. My only complaint, as mentioned by other reviewers, is wishing the tines were sturdier. On the other hand, the flexible tines raise the carpet nap without damaging it. The product is inexpensive so I won't mind replacing them as needed. I wish they were available in stores. Overall, I recommend this tool and will be suggesting it to my neighbor, who has two long-haired cats. In my opinion, people with pets and carpets need this item. February 19, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty Impressed! I received my rake thru the Seeds Program and am really impressed with the effectiveness and cleaning power. Years ago, I bought something similar with rubber tips that quickly broke off. We are dealing with a flea problem and I really needed something to get deep into carpets! So, if I could give this product 10 stars, I would. We are flea free again! I gave this 5 stars because it really works! Try it, you won't be disappointed. Two Dogs, One Cat and a woodstove --- Roberts Carpet Rake is a necessary tool!!! Upgrade? If this had a smaller head and handle, it would take the "urgh" out of cleaning the carpeted stairs. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Small investment to extend the life of a big investment! We have a low-pile shag carpet in 5 rooms & master closet. At least three of the rooms have had active traffic for almost three years, and the wear is starting to show in places, particularly entry ways. This rug rake does a wonderful job of bringing the life back to the appearance. It's also a great assist in prepping the carpets for vacuuming, loosening up the trapped dirt and pet hair to maximize the vacuum's performance. I will never be without one of these as long as we have carpets with any pile to them. Carpet is a big investment, why not use something easy to keep it looking new? January 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great & especially for the money! Works amazing. Brings life back to the carpet; looks plush again and feels good on your feet too. The only thing I would have done different if I were to do again, and I would, is buy a wider head. The 12 IN head is nice for those tight spots, but usually you would use this on heavy traffic areas that aren't so tight. SO, I would much rather have an 18 IN at the very least, and would welcome a 24 IN. The handle is great and unscrews off the head, so getting a wider head only would save money and would be easy to swap!! Other than that it is great quality, light weight, easy to use, and surprisingly durable. September 27, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent! I am VERY happy with this groomer. We purchased a lower end carpet last year and knew that to keep it nice it would require a good deal of effort on our part. We have two (outside) dogs, a (indoor) cat, and three (indoor/outdoor) children all under age 7. I did some research on how to un-mat the fibers and found that a groomer could do the trick. We found a reasonably priced one at a Home Depot in a town not far from ours. The first use it pushed a LARGE amount of sand, dirt, and crumbs from the carpet onto the adjoining laminate flooring. I swept that up and vacuumed the carpet and was please to see that though it doesn't' look brand new, it looks SIGNIFICANTLY better. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with a shag style carpet. February 15, 2014
