This product adheres the flooring to the base, which must be in good condition or the repair may not work well. If the underlayment is not in good condition - your problem may persist after the repair.

It worked well on my engineered hardwood and believe it would work on laminate. The dowels may not match your color and may need to be stained before you install them.

I used in on oak engineered hardwood floor laid on a concrete slab. The hardwood was originally applied with adhesive - which held in most places - but a section about 2 square feet. This section is where I used the repair kit. It worked great and is still holding up to heavy traffic. No more cracking sounds with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Got squeaky wood floors? Try the Roberts R1550 repair kit A section of my hallway floor started squeaking and popping a few years after installation. I had resigned myself to lifting the installed, hardwood flooring and relaying it, understanding that I would need to obtain matching planks to replace those damaged by removal. I saw this kit on the Home Depot website and thought that it was worth a try. The kit comes with adhesive, dowels, drill bits, an injector with 2 needles and a punch to drive the dowels into the repair hole. Using a drill motor and the supplied drill bits - you drill down through the flooring to the sub floor- in my case it was concrete. Before injecting the adhesive - point the dowels so they will go into the repair hole - per the instructions. I had several holes - so I pointed the entire lot of dowels on both ends prior to injection. Have a wet towel ready to clean up any adhesive that escapes the repair holes - then load the injector with adhesive - I filled it about 3/4 full each time. Push the injector into the hole and make sure it bottoms on the sub floor - then lift it up just a bit so the adhesive flows between the sub floor and the flooring. Push the plunger until you feel resistance - or adhesive comes out of an adjacent hole. Remove the injector and insert a dowel into the hole - nip off the dowel close to the floor and tap it down first with the hammer and then with the punch. The dowel should be just below the floor level - but not all the way through the flooring. Tips: 1. The punch comes pointed - grind it flat so it does not wander on the dowel when punching it down. I used a bench grinder and it took less than a minute to do. 2. Do not kneel or apply weight to the flooring around the repair areas until the dowel is firmly inserted. 3. Wipe off excess adhesive with a hot, soapy rag - not too wet, however. 4. Use a furniture repair crayon or colored wax to cover the holes. [holes should be made at board joints when ever possible to disguise the repair] 5. Clean the injector and needle as soon as possible - with hot soapy water. This repair saved me from lifting over 20 square feet of noisy engineered hardwood floor. It took an hour from start to finish. I am very happy with the results. December 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product - Does the Job! I used this product to repair my hardwood engineered wood on concrete floor. The hardwood had lifted up because of poor installation and perhaps something going on with the concrete slab floor. They advise to not use it on concrete but it worked for me. Easy installation, I just drilled a few holes in the 2ft by 2 ft area and syringed the glue in and then walked on the floor and removed any excess glue that came back up through the holes. I then weighted the floor down with patio bricks for 24 hr (even though they say not to do this). Let's see how long it stays glued down. I basically followed what a hardwood repair guy had done last year in another area that had lifted up from the concrete slab floor. September 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! This product was great in repairing the hollow areas under our engineered hardwood floor. After the repair I used the touch-up kit from the manufacturer and you cannot see where the repairs were made. The repair holes are very small. I downgraded the value on the item because if you are doing several repairs, it's likely that you will run out of glue. It is not possible to order more glue so you must order another kit. However it is a good value vs calling a professional to perform the repair. September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the Money We installed glue-down engineered flooring in our hallway a while back. After the glue had dried, we realized that there was about a 1'x2' area that was unlevel so the wood was not glued down there and sounded hollow. If I would have known this was such an easy fix, I would have purchased the repair kit long ago. Now the spot is firm under foot and I'm certain that this will help the flooring last longer. The holes that needed to be drilled were very small and are now completely imperceptible unless your face is on the floor. Overall, $80 well spent. June 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It Works! This product worked great! My hardwood floor (not laminate) had developed creaks and pops in the kitchen in high traffic areas. I filled two, 2 foot diameter locations by following the instructions to tape off the space where there was a hollow sound in the floor. Found a way to find the boundaries easily by tapping a broom across the floor to hear the sound change, taped it off in a circle, picked two spots at plank seams about a foot apart in the circle to drill down with the drill bit provided and punch, injected the glue with the syringe, saw it come up from the other hole after about 4 refills and injections, then filled more into the second hole to top it off, and taped in the dowel pins, and done! Didn't even need to add wood filler, just cleaned up. No creaks or pops so far after two weeks. Very pleased with the product and still have at least a half bottle left for more locations. Good deal for the price and result. July 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product It's a little bit pricey at first glance but it does exactly what it advertises it will do. My mistake was using too much of the adhesive therefore creating more waste than necessary. It only takes a small amount of the adhesive to fix the problem area. The instructions for using are brief but concise and accurate. April 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works very well Easy to use and works well. Instructions were clear. You can't see the holes. My only complaint is, it is a little expensive and only comes with a quart of adhesive. You need to keep pumping it in there until the void is full, and it can take quite a bit of glue. I'm on here now looking to order more of the glue for another couple of areas I need to fix. But it was definitely worth it. January 25, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Made the issue worse. I had an engineered wood floor installed using Roberts 1407 per Home Depots and the manufactures recommendation. Two months after installation the floor started coming loose. Roberts recommended that I use this product to fix the issue. The repairs have caused large areas of the floor to come loose. It has turned an issue with the flooring into a big problem. April 30, 2013
