I used this to install CoreTec-PLUS flooring which has a very tight interlock. The length of this bar was necessary to get an adequate hammer swing. The bar is 3/16 inch thick so you need some wall clearance to use it but it is strong enough to beat on without it bending. I used a dead blow hammer which worked well and lessened the noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turned out to be indispensable! We just laid 620 sq.ft flooring, and this was one of the tools we brought home because our research said we should. First couple of times we used it, we wondered why--we had to place it just right to avoid damaging the more fragile clicking tongues of the flooring and--with only one or two runs laid, we didn't see the point. But as we got further in, it became indispensable--when we had to tweak a floor that was slightly out of square, and especially in the tight spaces where you couldn't swing a mallet. Turned out the experts were right! This is very sturdy. I do rather wish it fit better, more safely around the flooring tongues (maybe a u-channel that fit above and below the tongue to protect it), but that may be too flooring specific. Just try to align that edge with the harder flooring material--and be prepared to reset with every whack!

While a pull bar was needed when we got to an opposite wall and had no space for a block of wood and a hammer, it broke the tongue and groove on many pieces of the flooring when we tried using it. A block of wood with a rubber mallet worked best for the majority of the planking. Should recommend something else for vinyl planking. I'm sure this would work great for the wood laminate.

I hate to spend that kind of money for a steel bar with two bends in it, but.... After two full-house installs and a couple of individual rooms, I finally splurged and got a pull bar. And yes, I should have much sooner. It's darn useful, doing a number of things that screwdrivers and tap blocks can't. Very useful. This one has felt pads on the bottom to prevent scuffing the floor as well. Very nice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chippy The bar does what it is support to. How ever in some cases it chips the laminate. Now that was not a problem, we could cut it up to use in the oncoming rows. However there was some waste because of it which I think is crummy because the laminate is not cheap. I would only recommend this because it's the only thing I found that does what it is intended for.

I would recommend putting a tapping block or 2x4 against the laminate flooring before you tap it I had a few pieces where I had to tap with some force and this tool damaged the grooves. Other than that it was very useful! Also if you cant afford a tapping block a 2x4 will work just as good!

After we marred a couple of pieces I went to Home Depot to find this tool. It worked great!! Does everything you need to snug the laminate together and get into the tight places. Well worth the investment! Highly recommend.
